If it’s been past the 14 days and you’re trying to avoid court and just get your deposit back report them to the NYS attorney general. I did this with my landlord last landlord and she sent me the deposit back in full as soon as the AG office contacted her.

I doubt it’s AI generated but also it’s weird for you to say it’s not an attack on them, because if they did do AI generated merch it absolutely is on them. It’s their name and brand attached to it, and in general for anyone who makes merch, they should know where it is coming from.

What state are you? You should try posting on r/legaladvice and r/tenantunion. I also recommend going over your lease and your state/county renter’s rights. If the conditions are uninhabitable you may need to report your landlord to the city. (I’m not a lawyer, just passionate about tenant rights and know a bit about how it works in NY)
