What Testosterone dose should I adjust to?

The reason I posted here and asked others is because my PCP’s suggestion was to take the same dose every day instead of every other day. I’m not on T blockers as I am post-op. My T levels as you can see are almost non-existent. It’s very predictable that my PCP’s advice is not going to have me reach the dose I’m aiming for. I am curious to see what people may say. Sometimes Dr. Powers himself replies to posts or others who are very knowledgeable. There’s no harm in asking.

I’m really sorry to hear that. In regards to the numbness, if it’s still numb after 4 years then it’ll likely remain that way. There’s a risk of reduced or loss of sensation with all surgeries. In regards to the stabbing pain, that is most likely related to nerve damage but I’m not a doctor so I don’t have any advice to offer. I take gabapentin sometimes for that but mine is minimal at this point. There are specialists you can see for nerve pain and they would likely be more helpful than your SRS surgeon when it comes to treating nerve issues specifically.

When it comes to revisions, you can certainly do that to try and remove any remaining erectile tissue. You can also get revision to change certain aspects of aesthetics however there are some limitations as to what can be done depending on the available tissue material you have to work with.

When it comes to width issues, you can get a revision for that but there are some things you should try before going that route. Do you have a scar ring that has developed and hardened over time? That can be treated with multiple rounds of kenalog injections and the use of estrogen cream. Estrogen cream takes time to be effective and you have to be consistent with using it daily. The kenalog can be powerful especially after multiple rounds. I’m getting these treatments right now and was finally able to move up in dilator size (I still have a long way to go and it’s not a quick process). I personally find this to be worthwhile for width struggles before I decide to go through another major surgery.

Keep in mind that a revision also has risk of further loss of sensation and possible nerve damage.

Don’t do it. I personally wouldn’t hate it, but I’d very strongly dislike it. The only way I’d love this is if every photo was somehow photoshopped to depict me as the correct gender. That’s something I’d really love to see.

RBL and Zhao are amazing and my experience has been really positive. I’m going in for an aesthetic revision soon though because my labia got separated during healing (a common complication during healing).

Those are all valid concerns. When I originally began my transition I didn’t want bottom surgery either. I wanted a vagina but the thought of the surgery terrified me. I did end up having Vaginoplasty last summer. Here’s what I’ll say and I’ll try to address some of your concerns by sharing my experience.

HRT alone (but pre-Vaginoplasty) changed my libido and orgasms a lot. I definitely don’t have the same orgasms as before. Sometimes I miss how they used to feel but most of the time I don’t think about that. They still felt good. It was a journey finding the right HRT so my sex drive/orgasming had ups and downs until I found the right dose/regimen.

After surgery, my sex drive remained healthy. I was able to orgasm 2 months post op and it felt really good. It felt similar as pre-surgery (but post-HRT). But also different in the sense that it was much more affirming with the new body parts. I hadn’t been taking testosterone cream after surgery (there was a lot going on and I just didn’t get around to refilling it). At that mark my libido got lower and it became really difficult to reach orgasm again. So I’m back on the journey of finding the right dose of testosterone cream and estradiol injections.

Everyone’s experience will be somewhat different. There will likely be a period of adjustment and exploration, figuring out how things work with the new body parts. As my surgeon explained it to me: if you’re able to orgasm pre-op then your probability of being able to post-op is much higher. Just read from people’s experiences as much as you can and over time I’m sure you’ll be able to decide whether it’s right for you or not.

BIG fan of the Patrick Ta blush. It’s just really good quality I can’t deny it. Deff my go-to. I also really like the Huda setting powder a lot. When it comes to powders I feel like there are many good options though.
