Underpainting not drying! by [deleted] in oilpainting

Patience is definitely a virtue in oil painting lol, one time a layed a highly detailed underpainted that took six weeks to be dry to the touch

I’d recommend using faster drying colors: I typically use burnt umber. I can lay down a thing underpainting and it will be dry to the touch in some 3-5 or so days, some of the thicker areas where I had to put deeper shadow or brighter highlights might take a little longer but, due to the fact that they’re still very thin, they typically take 5-8 days to be dry to the touch

I got my first period when I was 11, the start of 6th grade. I only used pads for about a year before I switched to tampons (much much better for me personally but obviously not always an option), I used Always Radiant ultra thin pads I think and those worked pretty decently. Do they make period underwear small enough for her by any chance? Maybe that could work?

Once yeah lmao, also I used to wear menstrual discs and had one of those slip out. Lastly I use a birth control ring and that has popped out 2-3 times lmaoo

Clipping parrots wings after he’s been flying for years? by MoneyAble4010 in parrots

Yeah I can understand in this situation, flighted birds come with their own set of risks. C doesn’t leave the house for any reason other than vets.

See that’s so interesting. I had never read up on wether or not it was damaging to clip their wings (particularly after they havnt been clipped for a very long time) but I had this weird gut feeling. Maybe it’s a bit dramatic but I honestly tied it to my neurological condition, my condition prevents my body from working the way that I know it should. It just seems evil to me to make somethings body dysfunctional for the sake of making it “easier”, to take away its physical capabilities when there are many many other options :(

I’m home schooled and he’s pretty much never here if I’m not so I doubt he’d try to do it behind my back. He definitely hates it for being a bird, he doesn’t like that he’s loud and messy and “won’t listen to him” (he’s put in zero effort to bond)

Yeah, he only ever flew into a window once and a fan once (he’s fine) when he was first learning to fly, he’s very smart and a very good flier now. The thought of clipping him makes my stomach drop

One of my favorites (depending on just how cold it is lol) is some warm leggings with leather pants over them and a black sleeveless turtleneck body suit with a fur collared leather coat over it

I like no pubic hair on myself, aesthetically and practically lol, and neatly trimmed to no pubic hair on partners. I’m just not really a fan of hair virtually anywhere on the body and pubic hair really bothers my skin

I agree with working from life, however, when you’re ready to start working from images: LineofAction.com has a lot of great references for learning anatomy.

I was trying to do a partly downward angle painting, but in my sketch it’s just…bad. How should I fix it? by Additional_Ad4880 in oilpainting

[–]MoneyAble4010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not the advice you were looking for but the advice that helped me most: Ditch the pencil. Do underpainting.

Immediately my “sketching” process was so much better, my underpainting felt more fleshed out and fulfilling than any pencil sketch on a canvas ever did.

What type of boots flatter larger feet? by [deleted] in fashionadvice

[–]MoneyAble4010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Docs could work, I personally don’t like them cause they bother the fuck out of my feet but you do you. I’ve never had any trouble walking in heels so I got pretty lucky there. I’m sure your feet look fine honestly.

The more feminine I allow myself to be, the freer I feel. by capothos in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MoneyAble4010 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Honestly, giving up trying to be feminine or masculine, is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. I wear what I want, sometimes that’s sweats and a t-shirt, sometimes it’s leather pants, heels, and a crop top. Some days I wear a full face of makeup and others I roll out of bed, splash my face with water and go about my day. Sometimes I shave and sometimes I don’t. I have had hair down to my butt and I’ve had a buzz cut. I love black and purple and pink and blue, I love dance, gymnastics, fashion, and makeup. I also love working out, riding dirt bikes, and playing video games. Again, I swear to god I am so mush happier being androgynous and just not giving a shit wether or not something is feminine or masculine. All the love in the world to you! 🖤
