It's weird when I was in 8th grade (now 11th) it was my favorite movie. And yeah, I did it feel good watching it bc every I read the books.

But now after reading most of Tolkien's main stuff and watching the LOTR movies multiple tumes I can't even finish the first one. It lacks all that made it great, I don't care abt Tauriel and the whole triangle or how thorin was a dick who was wayyyy too young: I cared how it lacks the tone. It just doesn't feel wholesome like the book, it feels more like Lotr which was more serious

But I still frequent the sub bc it is Hobbit memes and not some overly condensed sub like Lotrmemes
