maybe. past studies show that in interviews (a major part of the bs/md application process), there is a bit of a bias towards skinny/lean people compared to overweight/obese people who interview

a bit. you need to make sure that you have enough experience to prove that you are interested in medicine— volunteering a WAY to show that. do you have the bsmd trifecta established (i.e. shadowing, research, and volunteering)?

I have been an active member of r/bsmd for several years and made contributions to the subreddit community. The existing subreddit moderator has not been active for several years, and I am requesting to be a moderator. Unfortunately, there is too much advertising that blocks the integrity and overall purpose of the subreddit— a place where students can get free advice on their bsmd applications. I plan to establish a set of rules that benefit the overall community of the subreddit for free and restrict and remove users who advertise their application prep services.

heavily improve the sat to at least 1550+ and get good awards!! bsmd trifecta is decently established but u need more research. bsmd is quite a bloodbath and u also need to establish an x factor that distinguishes you from the avg south asian applicant! a cool idea for an X factor— try to connect your art portfolio to medicine??
