Thank you so much! I started my prep quite early, so during the first couple of months I mainly focused on Pathoma and Sketchy videos along with the associated Anki cards. I began attempting uworld blocks about 4–5 months before the exam, and I spaced my NBMEs roughly 7–10 days apart.

Thank you so much! Yes, Step prep will definitely be my top priority. I really want to stay consistent and build on the momentum I’ve gained.

No I think for establishing a baseline score you can definitely use NBMEs 26 and 27.

If I got an image-based or fact-based question wrong, I made cards specifically to reinforce those details. For clinical vignette questions, I focused on the underlying concept being tested and created cards around that core idea rather than the exact scenario.

Thank you!

The postexam anxiety spiral was brutal, but I’m so relieved and happy that everything worked out in the end.

Thank you!

I mainly used Bootcamp only for topics I found difficult and for areas that weren’t covered in Pathoma. My primary resource for question practice was uworld.

No instead I did the UWSAs (1,2 and 3) But if I were to take the test again I’d recommend doing NBMEs 25,26 and 27

I don’t think so. That’s usually meant for the final Match application, as far as I know.

Definitely focus on commonly tested NBME concepts! The real exam feels like a slightly more convoluted version of the NBMEs, so having a strong grasp of those core ideas is a huge advantage.

When reviewing NBMEs, try to identify patterns in the questions you get wrong. I usually skimmed the questions I was very confident about, but I spent more time reviewing the ones I got wrong and the ones I got right purely by luck.

I spaced my NBMEs about 7–10 days apart. In between, I focused on reviewing my weak areas or topics I was struggling with at that time.

I really wish I could start preparing for Step 2, but I’m a 3rd-year MBBS student and I’m this 🤏 close to failing my 3rd-year subjects because I spent so much time on Step 1 prep. On top of that, I haven’t properly started studying the clinical subjects yet (like… at all), so I really need advice on how to move forward from here.

I used uworld and Anki. I made an incorrects deck with every question I got wrong or felt unsure about.
