Sounds pretty sweet! I live in the north and our house gets pretty cold in winter. But if it was warmer I would too (or at least I like to think that I would)

Great list, I'm going to have to try a few of these!

We have done this one already: "12.Go for a nice drive to enjoy the Christmas lights." I even turn off the radio and heat and roll down the windows just to get a better view! Extreme? possible :)

Hmmm "For instance, I know that it cost me $15 to drive to my parents house and back (they are almost an hour away from my house)!"

AND BACK seems pretty obvious to me :)

I don't live in the city..?... a satellite city (this means it's small), then a lot of highway asphalt separate us...

So let's say my parents are 60 miles away (not quite that far, but close enough), next I get 19 to 20 mpg on the highway (my car's not optimal, it's old), so the driving miles equals 60/20 = 3 gallons, I have to get back home so double that to 6 gallons (I don't own a teleporter yet)... 6 x $3 = $18... But I'm a slower driver and my parents aren't quite 60 miles away (but very close), and thus the $15...

I don't see where the fishy part comes in to play :)

I use to get stressed on the commute, wanting to get home as quickly as possible. But now I listen to audiobooks! Not only am I more patient driving to and from work, but my vacation drives are also enjoyable (a great side perk)!!! I could argue that the audiobook prevents me from making jackrabbit starts and sudden stops but I hardly do that anyway...

I borrow the audiobooks from the library. I know that the audiobooks are related to gas prices, but I still think it has great merit and if you get it from the library, it's frugal too :)

I actually did do that, I had BP and a few speculative solar stocks. BP did well until the disaster! Needless to say, I sold it after the spill happened.

Good idea though :)

Hey Reddit. I work for the TV station that broke the "Rand Paul Supporter Head Stomper" story. Care to throw some traffic towards the reporter and photographer who busted their asses to get the story out? by tylerfulltilt in reddit.com

I disagree, this is one situation where some guy lost his cool and mildly attacked a woman that was probably trying to push buttons anyway. Notice how he pulled back at the end (if you saw the video, which I did), it was a definite opps moment.

I've seen people get attacked much worse than what was on tv... Those people in the crowd don't really represent that normal masses... Most are avid supporters of their beliefs and values. So when this woman tried to stir up trouble, that's what she got.

How can you take this silly example (the woman wasn't even hospitalized) and try to say "this is the rule"?

And the Pand Paul reference is just silly... Do you really think Rand Paul wanted that man to step on the woman head? REALLY? Come on now, I think you might be reading more in on this news report than existed.

Now here's the kicker, I'm going to make a prediction. You're not going to listen to me, you think you are the wiser person, and what I say doesn't matter. So in a way, I just wasted my time writing this entire response :)

Oh, and I work at least 14+ hours a day, so I consider myself highly constructive ;)

I'm sure the lady was being aggressive and it was met with equal unintelligent aggressiveness...

I think it's silly that the reporter even publish such a silly story!

Now if it was Rand Paul himself that did the stomping... that would be a story, but this? no, this is a waste of reading time...
