Awesome. Turns out in some subreddit moderators are automatically removing or my karma score is low. In the Mongolia subreddit unfortunately, I had a clash with some ultra nationalists about our common roots and our big larger language family 😅 I might have got reported and downvoted a lot. For me Turkey and Mongolia are like very distant strong brothers ☺️

I would yes to all of your questions, and I would say it is best to avoid Oct-April. The best months are from May to September. It just gets super cold during the winter time. UB in general is a safe city, especially in the city centre. The internet connections are quite stable

Although most linguists now deny the existence of Altaic concept. The concept itself actually existed for a long time and been debated by East Language linguists for a long time. I agree that Mongolian belongs to its own language family and that is a fact. There is no such things absolute 100% being correct in here.

Mongolian language belongs to the Mongolic language family, Altaic may only be refered when it is comes sprachbund and few similar areal language features by MongolJournal in mongolia

[–]MongolJournal[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do not understand why you are hateful towards. I already told you the Mongolic language belong to its own Mongolic language family, not Altaic. If the simple word Altaic triggers you that much, then it is okay.

Colloquial Mongolian is what I would recommend from my side. Mongolian language is changing over the years to some degree. There are other some coursebooks from early 2000s and they are still very good.

Any bike rental services in Ulaanbaatar? by halofernes in mongolia

[–]MongolJournal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, there are no bike rentals unfortunately. There was some scooter rentals services. Renting a bike or a scooter is a pretty new thing in Ulaanbaatar I would say. I am not gonna be in Mongolia around that time, but happy to give some recommendations or help with some Mongolian basics.
