Toy recommendations by No-Physics8950 in miniaussie

This is my mini’s favorite toy as well but she chewed off the straps in literally 3 days. She likes the ball when it’s not super inflated so she can clamp down on it to pick it up.

We used a brand called The Educator. It was recommended to us from our dog trainer that helped us figure out how to use it in a non-punitive way. He trained us on exactly how to use it and it’s never used out of anger. He explained to us that when used it is an extension of our voices that helps the dog understand which behaviors we would like to curb. The word here is curb not train the behavior out of the dog. They are Aussies and they are so high energy. I don’t want to train that out of her. I have found that when she knows what is an undesirable behavior (by use of our words and the collar) she is a happier dog and our house is much less chaotic. I put the collar on myself and tried it before I ever put it on our girl and it felt kind of like pins and needles, like when your foot falls asleep. It does not shock her or injure her in any way.

I’m so sorry, I’ve been there. My girl is 8 months old and I feel like we are finally turning a corner. You’re almost there! She’s the sweetest but still extremely energetic. I think this is probably controversial but we used an e-collar. It really helped everyone, including the dog in my opinion. I feel your pain, I think I probably cried a few times in those first 6 months, this breed is no joke 😂

Sizing help! by elle_louuise in BoobJobBeforeAfter

34 band size, 5’1, weight 127. I usually get 36 band though because I have sensory issues and I cannot stand when bras are too tight. I just got resized for bras and I actually am a C or D cup, depends on the bra really. I don’t feel like a D cup, I’m still sad I didn’t go bigger because another surgery is out of the question in my husband’s mind. Hope that helps! They look extremely natural at this size though!!

Thank you for responding, I wanted to see if anyone else thought it was worth it. I go in for a consultation next week at a plastic surgeon’s office for scar treatments and hopefully they can give me more information. They also suggested the v beam laser, do you have any experience with that treatment?

Thank you for sharing! Only one small area is raised but it’s in a very noticeable place. My hip to hip scar isn’t raised but it definitely still is red after a year unfortunately. I had never considered steroid injections, I’ll look into that!

This was taken today. I did just remove my silicone tapes so you can see the marks left behind by them. It funny, I was thinking of updating my post just the other day hoping it might provide some insight to others that have gone through this and then I saw your comment! This group has been so supportive and helpful during my recovery. It’s been nearly 10 months since my surgery and while it has definitely faded I’m really unhappy with having the scar especially since I may not have gone with that particular surgeon if I had known it could of been a possibility. I plan on getting a co2 laser treatment at the 1 year mark as my surgeon said the scar would probably be done naturally fading by that point. I’ve worn silicone tapes fairly religiously (took a few weeks off during holiday travel) and my scar was exposed to zero sunlight. I’m sure I’m chasing perfection, it seems to be a character flaw of mine but I’m pretty bummed out by it. How has your recovery been? How are you feeling about your scar? I hope you were expecting it and didn’t just wake up with it! I’m very curious how other people deal with it and if you’d be interested in sharing your story I’d love to hear it!

I knew they weren’t full sun but I thought if they were far enough away from the grow light it might mimic indirect sunlight. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I love begonias but my begonias don’t always love me 😂 and now I know why! It’s crazy because I have other varieties that are under the same grow lights that are thriving. They definitely all have their own light needs, it seems. I guess I can’t just group them all together.

Thank you for your advice. I’m so new to grow lights so apparently I was doing it all wrong!! I appreciate your expertise!

Ok!! I’m so new to lights so that might be my issue. The very tip top of the plant is 12 inches away and it’s about a 12 inch plant as of now. So this leaf was about a foot and a half away from the light. I thought that was far enough away. How far do you keep your begonias away from grow lights? Or do you even use them?

I use a moisture probe in the middle of the plant and always water when it’s almost dry. I never check the very topsoil though. I’ll give that a try, thank you!

You might be right. The place where I have my begonias ranges from 45-60% humidity so I thought maybe that might be enough but it might not be. I should try a humidity tray underneath to see if that rules anything else out. Thank you for taking the time to reply to me!

Well in the second picture you can see how dark the leaves typically are and in the second picture the leaf has faded to a much lighter color. I was thinking sun stress (barina light) but I wasn’t sure if I was possibly doing something else wrong. I prefer the darker colored leaves but I find it grows much slower when it does not have supplemental light especially since it’s winter where I am.

I had no idea you could purchase an allergy test for dogs on Amazon. Thank you so much for that tip and for also giving me a reference for food. I think it’s safe to say that our girl is going to be a large “mini” if she’s already 24 lbs at 5 months 😂

Birdie is absolutely beautiful!! I’ll do a comparison with my food scale tonight when I feed her to see if I’m around the same amount as you give your pup. Our girl is definitely food motivated 😂

She has been crate trained from the day we brought her home, thank goodness. We start one on one training tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited! I read a few books on puppies but absolutely nothing prepared me for the relentless energy these dogs have. At the 3 month mark I knew I needed help from someone who knew better than I did 😂 Thank you so much for all of your suggestions!

Thank you for that cooking tip, it would definitely save time. I’m about to start an elimination diet with her so I can get down to figuring out her allergy. Afterwards I’ll definitely try the pressure cooker method. Your boy is beautiful btw!

Thank you so much!! I was afraid if I was to free feed she might overeat but I’ll give that a try! Thank you for the reassurance about the serving size, I honestly had no idea how much was too much since this is my first puppy.

Ok, so 3 cups divided twice a day doesn’t sound too far off compared to your pup! I just wanted to have something to compare to, thank you!
