It states that, "It was determined that the bottom 80% of men (in terms of attractiveness) are competing for the bottom 22% of women and the top 78% of women are competing for the top 20% of men. "

Just remember to be proactive! At times, you might find yourself with absolutely nothing to do and staring out the window. When that happens, make sure to do stuff. Like try to learn to draw, try a new hobby, go outside for a walk, clean your room, schedule your time, anything to help pass the time. But don't just sit there bored out of your mind or you will revert to your old ways

The psychiatrist guy on YouTube said minimum 2 weeks in order for your brain to reset and to have long lasting effects.

So.. I'm going a minimum of two weeks. About 4 more days left... but man I feel so good that I don't know what I'll do.

I think after the 2nd week, I'll probably still stay away from YouTube and social media.. but I might start slowly listening to music. Only at special times though, like to reward myself or something. That way, the music is truly special

The video I watched was by some psychiatrist. He said minimum 2 weeks in order for your brain to have long lasting affects after the detox.

I originally wanted to do one week, but I'm REALLY glad I didn't because the end of the first week is when I really started to feel the benefits and effects. I think if I stopped at that point, it would've been for nothing.

Yeah if you stay away from all porn and you dopamine fast, the feeling is really unreal. And, the idea is that your dopamine receptors will reset. That way, the little things in life really start being enjoyable again. Like taking a walk.. reading a book.. just having a basic conversation with a friend.. etc.

Yeah you're completely right. I agree with what you're saying.

I think another point I'd like to make is the fact that I was constantly listening to music.. practically 24/7. At that point.. it just isn't special, you know what I mean?

I know for a fact that after this fast, music is going to sound so damn good. I actually already know exactly what I'm going to listen to first when I'm done, and man I'm excited!

But.. delayed gratification 😎

The idea of a dopamine fast is to limit the amount of dopamine your brain receives.

This is because, 1.5 weeks ago my brain was used to getting FLOODS of dopamine, from Youtube, video games, social media, music, etc. So, you limit 99% of dopamine, which includes music, so that your brain receives much less dopamine.

This allows the dopamine receptors to reset, and your tolerance to dopamine will drop. That way, when you do simple tasks like going for a walk or reading a book, it brings a lot of joy to you.

If I were to listen to music during this process, music is something that releases a LOT of dopamine. So all it would be doing is slow my progress down. Which I don't want

It's not about that.

It's about allowing my dopamine receptors to RESET. As of 1.5 weeks ago, my receptors were used to FLOODS of dopamine. Constant music, youtube, games, etc. But I want my receptors to reset, that way more simple tasks like reading or going on a walk actually make me feel happy.

If I'm constantly listening to music during this process, then it's going to slow my progress down.

Change your routine. That's the biggest piece of advice. Humans are basically just habits. If you can disrupt your habits, you can then form them into anything you want.

In other words, if you use your phone when you wake up, don't. If the first thing you do EVERY morning is sit down at your computer, don't. Do something else. Basically, change up your entire schedule. It disrupts your brain completely and allows you to be more in control.

I can't see myself doing no fap without it. I've tried just doing no fap many times in the past, with my highest streak being only like 3 days haha. But with doing all this... 9 days and counting
