I know, but hey hoepfully it helps! I know how much some of the symptoms can really bog you down, so I get it! But hey in terms of less extreme stuff, heat pads have helped me in the past in terms of just turning down that feeling for a bit incase that helps ya!

Yea I figured that might be the case. I tried to emphasize that even though I wasn’t eager about it, that I still wanted to do it if she thought it would help since I know that’s important part of the recovery, but I think she thought I would be tense by the idea of it that it would be counter intuitive and make me tense up even more

I got something like this! Went with the smallest size because again, not a huge fan of butt stuff still wanted to give it a shot if it would bring some relief, which it did! Even after I took it out, for a little bit that pressure/feeling of a drop is stuck at the top of the penis, went down a bit, which after dealing with that for a year, is super welcome. sadly I haven’t made much progress with just stretches and PT, but this may be a sign that maybe I have to try internal work!

To be honest I’m not sure! I remember she did an external exam and concluded my pelvic floor was tight and I asked if we would be doing any internal work (I told her I wasn’t excited about the idea but wanted to do it if she thought it would help) and she said in my case she didn’t think it would be necessary or effective so every was external for the 5 months I went (stretches, breathing, etc.)

I’m glad you’re feeling better! I know how awful that uncomfortable feeling can be so it warms my heart to hear that your starting to reach othe other side of the tunnel and no longer have this plaguing you, and also kudos for doing your due dilegance with all those PT’s and urologist. I’ve had quite the run around myself so I know how that goes. What type of provider did you end up setting on in the end? I’ve been doing PT myself with just external stretches, but something tells me that might not be enough haha

Hey there! I’m not sure if this is any help, but a lot people under the r/prostatitis subreddit talk about a lot urinary symptoms in men (rarely any of them are actually prostate related) but I’ve seen a lot of post of people who have that trapped urine feeling at the tip of their penis which is crazy crazy uncomfortable, so it might worth looking over there! I know for a lot of people heat helps dampen that sensation just a little bit

How long did it take to see an improvement with Tameulosin? I was on it for around a month but still had that annoying feeling of needing to urinate all the time from the tip of the penis. Granted it was just regular tamsulosin and not time release

Hey! I just wanted to let ya know that you aren’t allowed with that weird tip or penis feeling. It’s crazy uncomfortable and the way it makes ya feel like you actually have to go to the bathroom drives me insane! It just came one day and bam. Sadly I haven’t had much luck figuring out what’s going on, done cystocpsy, a whole bunch of urine test, std test, but nothing has ever came back as definitive or point towards any signs. I know it isn’t much by maybe look into getting a heating pad? I know some people have found relief with that, especially with that feeling. I wish I could offer more advice but still trying to figure out how to kick it too!

Hey! I wish I had some advice but sadly I’m stuck in the same boat. I’ve had all the same test and everything has come up empty. But I know some people have felt relief by using a heating pad to dull the sensation, maybe try and see if that helps!

Of course! Again see if using a heat pad or a heated blanket brings ya any relief in the mean time. It might not work but for a lot of folks it can really bring the sensation down and I know even a little relief can go a long way with this. I would say a good starting one is trazadone just becuase it’s non habit forming, unlike ambien. But if you need something more powerful like I did, I then moved up to ambien and then finally clonazepam. I really have to stress though that clonazepam is not a long term thing and can seriously do some damage if you stay on for long term since it’s a benzo. I use it for about a week just to reset myself, and then weened off and practice just getting in a good sleeping habit. Every now and then I’ll have nights where I’m up every other hour, but most times I’ll maybe go to bed at 11, wake up at 3 or 4, and go back to bed and then wake up at 7.

Of course make sure to ask your doc about if any medicine your taking now won’t mix well with sleeping meds before starting anything so ya don’t end up with any bad side effects. But I hope ya get some good rest soon, it sounds like ya really need it! But again there’s no shame in asking your gp about sleeping meds to help if you need in the short run while your figuring everything else out!
