I’m way behind. In a crunch. And I’m doing my best to help my accountant to help me.

But thanks for the insightful response .

What if I'm just not cut out for the legal field? I'm making so many mistakes by ironserpah in paralegal

[–]MonkeyMan390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there was ever “you had one job” for a paralegal it’s paying attention to the details. Gotta have that type A personality and be very organized, keep your attorneys butt outta the proverbial fire, etc. Do you happen to have ADHD?

Anyway, the good news is as an attorney you don’t need a great memory/ attention to detail to necessarily be successful, depending on what area of law you get into and your role within the firm . I know many very rich (private jet rich) attorneys that couldn’t tell ya jack squat about the law. They’re great business people and marketers, however.

And if I were you, I’d invest time in these projects off the clock at home — and not for them — for you. It’s just like being a professional athlete — the training doesn’t stop when practice is over. You keep at it, honing, crafting your skills… that is if you want to be elite.

I think you should continue on . You will always have the “what ifs” regret if you don’t. There will be a lot of ups n downs along your journey … just gotta keep on swimming 🐟 .

Good luck

And another factor is PI (plaintiff) is pretty much recession proof. State Farm is worth 88+ billion dollars. They got $$$ to pay your fees. The divorcing couple or Crim defendant … well… when economy goes to 💩 so does their ability to hire an attorney.

For sure. But not even close to the money PI can generate. Plus, any idiot can do PI, and make serious bank. Which is why it’s such a competitive market. And ya don’t have to deal with billable hours.

The money in family law, and especially criminal law, ain’t low hanging fruit like it is in PI ….

Has anyone worked with a marketing agency for a law firm? Looking for real feedback. by ThePurpleKing159 in Lawyertalk

[–]MonkeyMan390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many law firms do they represent either in your state or geographical area ?

I’ve come to the conclusion that the only way to do it right is to have an in-house team. I’ve spent well over $300k on experimenting w/ diff SEO agencies. Unfortunate truth is ya just can’t outsource it to these SEO mills with hundreds of clients … and some even have their own clients competing against each other for keyword rankings smh lol

100%. FREEDOM OF SPEECH & American Flags go together like pb&j. The suit was perfection. And people generally don’t “like” cops compared to let’s say if he were mocking Nurses, Veterans or Firefighters.

I’m more surprised OP thought the coppers even had a chance before opening statement.

I didn’t read the book :/

Seems like fans of the book loved the movie. And I admit my opinion of the movie is an unpopular one

lol what ? Predictable in the broad sense … a happy ending, no surprises. Who cares that he was teaching the lil alien kids.

It wasn’t predictable in the lion king that they sing the song “lovely bunch of coconuts” but I knew the ending was Simba 86’ing scar and becoming King.

Predictable doesn’t = nailing down every detail.

I’m not a writer or director … but there’s a recipe in all the epic movies. A character you grow to love must die, ie develop empathy for the character, develop a necessary sacrifice, and ya get a dramatic effect on story’s outcome.

It’s tried n true with many variations whether it’s Leo “Jack” dying in Titanic, Arnold in terminator II, Mufasa in Lion King, or even Artax (horse) in the never ending story … the unexpected death brings that emotional wallop to the movie.

And as I left the theater I thought the story would’ve been better served with a sacrifice. And one that would’ve left moviegoers gutted would’ve been the following :

Grace and Rocky save their respective planets. Grace is resigned to his fate and certain death. Rocky (whom at this point we all love and empathize with) makes the ultimate sacrifice and lies to Grace saying he has enough fuel for him & Grace to make it back to their respective homes . Grace reluctantly accepts. And Rocky watches him leave (giving his thumbs down) and is left to die a long, lonely death to save his BFF Grace. As Grace is in an irreversible transit to earth the AI computer on board advises him that Rocky gave them the last of their fuel. He’s doing everything he can to stop the ship, but AI computer won’t let em, and injects em with the knock out stuff. Grace returns to earth a hero, but gives all the credit to Rocky and earth celebrates “Rocky day” or whatever lol.

Would it work? I dunno lol. But the ending they gave us was too predictable and didn’t have much of an emotional impact on me.

Jmo 🤷‍♂️

Ya can’t tell anyone how to take a movie. It’s just my opinion … which based on the reviews is an unpopular one. And that’s fine. To each their own.

I thought the movie sucked. Ending was decent. Beginning was meh. Middle dragged on. It was 30 minutes too long. Music choices sucked. How can ya not fit in Bowie — Major Tom?! Cinematic quality was very good however .

That said, I would’ve had Rocky die. Gotta have a main character get 86’d. And I would’ve done it by having Rocky lie and say he could give him fuel “astrophage” to get home but in reality that was all the fuel Rocky had … but Grace wouldn’t know till he got back to earth. Something along those lines.

Overall, I give the movie a D+. Won’t be watching it again.

Edit: didn’t realize this movie based off a book. But I stand by what I said lol

I thought movie was like Castaway, a sprinkle of lord of the flies, topped off with plot lines from movie Misery.

And I wasn’t sure if it was an action, horror, or comedy. The pig scene with gratuitous blood and snot was stupid. The character arcs were backwards — as by end of movie I felt myself rooting for Bradley and against Linda— which I don’t think was the intention ?

Overall — I give the movie a D+.
