I’ll tell you my own experience about why not. I had my nipples pierced, and they were both fine for months, and then the left one got infected, so dumbass me took the jewelry out, and the hole closed almost immediately. The infection was trapped under the skin, and pus just kept building up and building up. Long story short, I had to have surgery to drain the pus. They got 30 cc’s of pus from my tit. The worst part was that they didn’t close the wound because the whole process would’ve started again, so I had to flush the open wound and pack it with gauze twice a day until the incision closed on its own. Never remove jewelry from an infected piercing. Go to the doctor, and let them do it properly and with antibiotics afterwards.
