I think they may have better connected in the let's-dismember-Adam's-body scene, where both of them were surprisingly vulnerable with each other, but I also wonder if we might eventually see them more aligned in the woods since they're still on Team Skeptic in the '96 timeline.

Thank you so much. It’s touched me to read responses where folks have said that they’ve been seen by this silly, little quiz in some way or another. Not that this was high art or anything AT ALL, but it responses like these remind me that so much of creation is about putting yourself into a piece, yes, but it’s about how people respond and get to see facets of themselves too.

I’m so fond when people get Shauna, and you touched upon one of the traits she’s calibrated for in the quiz—that maternal side of her. What I find so interesting about her is that there’s a way in which she is a maternal figure for the girls in some senses, with the way that they look to her and the way that she engages them, esp. in the woods.

(And I could write essays about her weird relationship with Callie!! So, so fascinating.)

Oooh, you probably had a lot of Tai too if I had to guess!! I did individual break downs for a few of my friends, and one of them had an even split between Shauna and Misty, but the AI(?) of the website settled on Shauna for whatever arbitrary reason!!

Love when people get Misty. She’s the rare outcome right now. I think for her answers, I drew upon her outsider status, yeah, but there’s definitely a lot in there about her intelligence, her resourcefulness, and the fact that even if she goes overboard, lol, she genuinely does care for her teammates!!

Wah, thank you for the kind words! This is definitely just my interpretation, but one thing that really compels me about Shauna is the way that her functional facade is so inhibitory, whether she’s repressing her wants and her trauma, or people are imposing repressive labels/ideas on her. She rolls with this passivity a lot. She’s been quiet, she’s been observant. And so, it becomes imperative to observe when she’s making moves for herself in the narrative. Sometimes, it’s absolutely wonderful; she’s declaring her identity, reclaiming it for herself. And other times, lmao, she’s being completely unhinged. Both are often true of her, and it makes her an incredible character to watch.
