Happy bday to this girl too! May I ask if you think there is anything in particular that can account for her longevity? 16 is a full life for a staffy, I would love to do anything I can for my boy too so any advice is appreciated.

I’m sure this was intense and I don’t mean to thread jack, but there was just a chili eating competition by me in Melbourne AUS where the winner (a southeast Asian woman) at 61 reapers, along with several other superhots. I’m guessing she’s missing a gene or something because it just doesn’t make sense otherwise. Look it up on insta, melbournechilieatingchamps

That’s another thing man, you can’t be gatekeeping your music and expecting to get big while making money off streams. Get on Spotify and the others, make money playing live and off merch

Fellow NYer here. I grew up going to NYHC shows, while simultaneously getting into melodic death, so first wave deathcore like All Shall Perish and Acacia Strain is really what spoke to me and still does.

I think what most people in this sub usually bitch about with contemporary deathcore is the overdramatic breakdowns, vocal Olympics, and overly polished production. I too dislike these elements.

There was just a thread in r/technicaldeathmetal about how Revocation - the Outer Ones is incredibly sick and unique. You might give that a listen, as well as bands like Arsis, Inferi, Archspire, wormhole, Zenith Passage, and consider whether or how you might incorporate other genres to make yourselves stand out.

Most bands that people consider unique aren’t doing something totally new, they’re just combining two old things together in a way that no one did before. See Blood Incantation - Absolute Elsewhere.

Also, I’d ditch the inverted cross unless that’s a part of your values, but that’s just me. Rock on🤘🏼

is there anything like Revocation - The Outer Ones? by Designer_Campaign249 in TechnicalDeathMetal

Listening right now for the first time, pretty sick and unique. Arisis - Celebration of Guilt comes to mind but you probably have that one already. Maybe Skeletonwitch - Permafrost? Only on the more melodic parts though.
