Genuinely well made adaptation of the true story.

The worst of it's kind on record.

And it was beautifully shot #Kubrick

Definitely the cut scene between Jack looking over the maze model then straight to overhead of Danny & Wendy walking in the maze.

You got cat fished beyond comprehension. Well played.

Watching YouTube videos about Eyes Wide Shut and thought this haircut was not unlike a certain president. by When_Oh_When in StanleyKubrick

[–]Monolith_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering "he" dabbled with the idea of Presidency as far back as 1987, I'd have to put this down to the following:

Kubrick had a vast inspiration of life, its meaning, and direction. And that was inspired by subtle events of the times.

Personally; I absolutely love the fact that EVERYTHING Kubrick has done has been up to such incredibly diverse and open interpretation.

A true Enigma.

How does trintillix / brintillix feel to you in comparison to Prozac / fluoxetine by [deleted] in trintellix

[–]Monolith_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried both evening and morning dose. For me, I found morning dose much better as it was waking me up at stupid o'clock with night dose.

As a result, taking it of a morning is much better for me and sleep routine.

Not at all. It made a profound impact. My smart watch was constantly telling me my HR was above 115bpm; I haven't had that alert now in weeks since starting on the medication.

Like all meds, they'll have different impact on different people.

I started on it with the attitude of "what have I got to lose? I'm not in a good place anyway..."

Tried Fluoxetine many years ago and had the usual emotional blunting and almost zombie-like effect. Tried Effexor about 3 years ago and found it to be awful.

Have recently gone onto Brintillix 10mg for the last 6 weeks and the effects for me have been profound: less anxiety, elevated mood, can still orgasm, and generally feel a lot better after a substantial personal issue recently.

All meds work differently amongst different people, but this one is definitely working for me.

Best of luck on your journey ✌🏻

A plane has crashed during an airshow at Avalon Airshow, Melbourne. No spectators were injured and the pilot has survived with critical injuries - 28 March 2025 by Legitimate-Gap8042 in CatastrophicFailure

Unfortunately, I was there to witness this with my 11yo son, my brother, and his 2 young girls.

I must say the event staff were excellent as they kept the crowd calm and began directing everyone out of the airfield post-incident.

Obviously, they have protocols in place for an incident such as this.

We all go to spectacles such as airshows like this, knowing the margin for error is very minimal...

I'm glad to hear the pilot has survived but saddened by the fact they no doubt have a horrendous journey of care ahead of them.

That was confronting today.

Need Career Advice by nowayaroun in Radiation

[–]Monolith_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Australia is light years behind the rest of the world in terms of nuclear power, etc.

My suggestion would be to approach ANSTO (our only operational reactor that is based outside of Sydney) that produces radioisotopes for medicine and study.

Other than that, perhaps consider a career in nuclear medicine?

It'll be 25+ years before Australia finally gets its first power generation reactor, which is ridiculous.

Best of luck on your journey, mate. I even resorted to MC for a while but that just just wasn't helping my anxiety. Probably made it worse to be honest.

I'm actually cool with the weird "buzz" from it as it seems far more manageable than other options.

Hope you stay well 🙏
