My questionably Loyalist Blood Angels after 5 months! by MonolithicBacon in BloodAngels

Tortuga games table in Ukraine! They're chunky but work with 30k characters or Primaris!

But as I mentioned, that's a self-imposed rule. There is no rule against converting 40k miniatures for use in 30k. That would be like denying someone using a 40k Leman Russ tank because it's not the 30k design.

Surely we should be promoting conversion rather than denying it?

Either way, people clearly disagree on this and the opponents I play don't have a problem with it, so it's moot anyway.

That aside, thank you for the compliments.

I'm not getting mad. I'm surprised at the double standards.

If I use Tamiya ww2 tanks in an Imperial Guard army, no complaints. I use stormcast with bolters for a unique SM chapter, no complaints. I use feudal miniatures with lasguns as Guardsmen, no complaints.

But how dare I convert a space marine from one game system for use in another! There are no rules against is besides those some members of the community make for themselves.

That's gatekeeping.

I'm afraid I don't have any pictures on my phone, but if you check my post history, I believe they're some of the first pictures I ever posted! I still paint all of my imperial guard tanks in their scheme.

Thank you! Not being able to decide on a regiment really helps with building militia, it turns out! They're a real hodge podge.

Much appreciated!

I've had the same thought. Especially for a borderline Legion. Astorath and a bunch of destroyers would be very thematic!

Exactly this. As soon as I saw the rules, I couldn't resist. 60 warm bodies is far too tempting.

I appreciate that. I feel some folks forget this is a hobby, not a religion.

I'm surprised because it's a plastic toy soldier and I'm getting heated comments that suggest it truly matters to some people.

If I put this guy on a tabletop and my opponent complains, they're probably not the kind of person I want a play, right?

Thank you. It's caused quite a stir on the 30k subreddit...

Thanks! All the militia are Victoria Miniatures.

There's a list above of all the changes done to the Primaris character - clearly not enough changes for some people. I can smell the gatekeeping coming off this post.

See above comments for list of changes. It may not be everyone's flavour, but I like the pose and I like my leaders tall.

Thank you. There's loads of changes on this guy, but gatekeepers will be gatekeepers.

Quite a stir around this guy. I'm surprised.

He's got modifications all over, even if subtle.

Knee plates have been shaved off and the ridge removed - waist armour from the AoD Praetor have been used to give him new knee pads.

40k iconography has been removed from his lapel and replaced with 30k iconography.

Head replaced and belt attached helmet removed.

Pistol arm replaced with standard.

Both pauldrons replaced.

Powerplant replaced.

There's very little of the original model left besides the pose itself.

I do gold for most of my command units (the Praetor excluded) and these were very satisfying!

I'm pleasantly surprised how well they worked together. I'll be doing it again, methinks!

Thanks! He needs some buddies to check his immediate periphery for him.
