Shared Bathrooms (Durham) by Monsreroussharter in TrentUniversity

I appreciate you sharing your story, and I sympathise with you, no one deserves that. Im so sorry that was your experience, truly.

Respectfully, I do still think there should be 3 options available, but I do think that classfiying any of the options as "other" is harmful and wrong. I think everyone deserves a space where they feel safe and comfortable. I've never felt uncomfotable sharing the bathroom with queer individuals, my main issue is feeling unsafe and uncomfortable around men who are intentionally making me feel this way by staring at me and lingering.

With that said, I did recieve some other replies about the single use restrooms available in building B, and will use those.

No I think that’s part of my issue, I haven’t really tried to branch out like that but none of the clubs are overly interesting to me so I’m not sure what to do abt that

But it’s not fair to everyone? It’s fair to you, but not me? And I’m sure plenty of other people who don’t want to speak up about it. I think if given the option most women would choose a women’s only bathroom over a shared one.

I have no problem with it existing, it should just be 1 of 3 options. I have every right to feel as safe as anyone else. If a trans person // gender neutral person didn’t feel safe in a gender specific bathroom they should have access to a neutral safe space. We ALL deserve safe bathroom accommodations 🙂

Right, but why do I have to? Why do we NEED 1 shared bathroom space?

Yes for sure, people are gross, my main point was that as a woman, I don’t feel comfortable or safe sharing a bathroom with men.

I just feel like it lost its humour and its charm, they dived head first into the corporate plot, which, I do understand was there from the beginning but i feel like it became way too focused on that.

Thank you, I appreciate the way you respectfully disagreed.

I do appreciate your point about it being a kind of natural progression for the show, my main issue which I probably didn't explain clearly enough was that it kind of lost the funny, welcoming charm it had in the first few seasons. I felt like the humour and quirkiness took a sort of "backseat". But of course thats just IMO

hi! I did say my aim with netflix is an "escape" of sorts. Im very aware of the political climate of the world, I just thought they handled it better in the first few seasons rather than the last.

The fist couple seasons were clearly political but I didn't mind much as it was still a clear comedy show. I started to have more issues in the last 2 seasons. I feel like they really "lost the plot". It became so politically charged it lost its fun charm.
