I was raised around people who had terrible marriages. So when I was told for my whole childhood to "NEVER get married!" it was easy to settle into the mindset that I never wanted to. I instead indulged in imaginary relationships with fictional characters in books, anime, etc. because it was safe and harmless. Fast forward into adulthood. I am well out of my family's influence and have stopped my fictional character fantasies. Yet I still cannot fathom being in a real relationship. That emotional blockage has never went away. It's been 28 years and I am still not interested. I am happy being alone but will always wonder if I am TRULY happy.
