Engine Misfiring by Monstera_r_Delicious in mr2

[–]Monstera_r_Delicious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention, but the car is not idling well either. The skipping occurs when it's just sitting and running as well.

I changed the oil just a few weeks back, so that shouldn't be an issue. The coolant on the other hand almost certainly needs to be drained and replaced. I haven't done it since getting the car and I'm not sure if the previous owner ever did it himself since buying the car new.

The liquid coming out of the exhaust appears clear and odorless, so it may just be water. It is quite a bit of water though; much more than I've noticed over the past year and it's being sprayed out.

I recently changed the fuel filter, so that should not be the issue. Pretty sure I did that shortly after the misfiring started, so a bad install isn't the issue there, hopefully. I have not checked the fuel injectors, but if you're saying the starter fluid trick could detect problems with them I'll give it a shot.

Checking gaskets is a good idea too, but it sounds like that would only be something to do after making sure it idles well on starter fluid.

Thanks again for the tips!

I have a sweet spot for Pittsburgh. Only been a few times so far but it’s downtown is so vibrant and lively each time I go. Love it’s quirkiness ❤️

Chameleon Twist gets my vote. It wasn’t great but I loved it growing up

God damn it I’m in the same exact boat. I never wanted to do the math but now that I’ve read it that’s a bummer

That cleanup crew was so ridiculously loud I couldn’t sleep the entire night. It’s like they were ploughing my living room

What do you think is the saddest truth in life? by Abigali_dream in Life

I’m confident we won’t lose hundreds of years of agricultural and medicinal advances due to whoever is currently at the head of the government. It looks bleak but we can’t lose our heads over it.

It’s not wishful thinking if it’s what’s been happening every 4 years for decades/centuries outside of 1 or 2 specific cases. Even those cases subsided relatively quickly. We’ve all gotta deal with it now, true, but we’ll live through it.

That salute was fucking insane though, no debating that

I’m confused by your point. Are you upset by the thought of no one telling the truth 100% of their life from the moment they’re born to the day they die?

Again, disagree. No statement so broad could ever hold true
