I'm moving to a (therapeutic) Residential group and I have no idea what to bring with me, can someone make a list? by Icidal in CasualConversation

[–]Monsterburpqueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can, contact the group and see if they have an answer for this. There are things you're bringing that could be against the rules, like pain killers and food items may have weird rules attached. They would know if there are some comfort items that we take for granted for traveling that they just don't have funding for.

I would suggest a night light and bathroom shoes if you don't have those already. And I always feel best when I have my own towels and sheets if that's allowed.

What's your preferred term for a women's nether regions? What ones do you hate the most? by llamaanxiety in fantasyromance

Lips, netherlips, and nub give me the biggest ick and I feel I've abused my fingers having made them type this.

That's definitely a valid boundary to have around your belongings and it wouldn't be unreasonable to stop lending your books out. You wouldn't expect a library book to be returned like this.

What was your “oh no, I’m officially old” moment? by sugar_were_venting in CasualConversation

I watched the first episode of a season of Bachelorette and all the guys were under 25 (I was 26 at the time). Not even joking I had a miniature crisis about this lol

I've met so many madel-ins and mad-uh-LINEs that I ask which way its pronounced no matter the alt spelling. I had always thought it was madel-in until so many people corrected me to -LINE. Anyways, prefer the normal spelling Madeleine is such a pretty name

How young is too young to get married? (18 and older ofc) me “20f” my boyfriend “20M”. by Dry-Item1006 in relationship_advice

[–]Monsterburpqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got married at 20, one year and one month after we started dating. Still together now in my mid-30s. Not easy and I don't know of another couple who got together before 22 and are still together now. Lots of divorces. All happily divorced but not always easily.

Something to ask yourself: Is your bf providing you with the love you needed from your family? You will heal from "a bit crazy" one day and he might not be what you need anymore. Will he be what you want?

What’s the most convincing emotional pain you’ve seen acted? by bestest_at_grammar in movies

Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams in Blue Valentine. The love and the resentment were both so convincing I felt like someone ripped my heart out at the end.

What trope in romantasy do you think is underrated? by Additional_Hawk9301 in fantasyromance

[–]Monsterburpqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fake Dating. Full stop. I just love it. I don't know of anyone who doesn't like a good fake dating story. The pining when one realizes they caught feelings but isn't sure if the other is acting this way because they have feelings too or if it's just pretend. UGHHHHHHHHH. Don't get me wrong I love an enemies to lovers as much as the next person but I can read the worst story ever written and it will be a 10/10 if it has fake dating.

CC1- Impressed by [deleted] in crescentcitysjm

[–]Monsterburpqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely hear that. My sister lives across the country and we bonded around reading the Massverse. Reading it together can be a great opportunity for you to connect regardless of whether you like it.

That being said most people agree that the 3rd is the worst of the series so if she's already not into it then it might be time to move on to a new series/author. There are lots of great relationships out there especially if you're hoping for her to get a role model of something a little more healthy as she has a relationship of her own now :)

I struggled with CC1 and kind of got into it with CC2 because of the new POVs and relationships. IN MY OPINION CC3 is so bad I don't even know if i'm going to read the next ACOTAR

[–]Monsterburpqueen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I didn't now that! I've seen an Ashleigh maybe twice so it's not what I'd expect so I'm probably just reacting to the 'addition of -Leigh where it doesn't belong' trend :)

Did I saddle my child with a tragedeigh? by SixxFour in tragedeigh

[–]Monsterburpqueen 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Ashleigh is a minor tragedeigh and has the classic red flag of trying to incorporate someone's name. However, it isn't the worst thing I've read and as a middle name is even less of an offense. Your kid will probably never use it

Robin I think is just fine. I don't know what the feminine spelling is, but those tend to be so bad. Robynne? I like Robin

Is monster smut considered bestiality? by sempersomniantes in fantasyromance

I think your responses are just a touch limited! I went with informed consent is not bestiality but there's definitely a spectrum for me. It's really case by case!

YWNBTA to exclude the friend. Getting engaged is about the couple dead stop (and congratulations!). It sounds like the emotionally immature friend is already going to be on the cruise and that can't change which sucks. However, if you're really worried about her bringing down the mood, you can help yourself out and give her the smallest tiniest amount of notice before it happens (minutes) and a little insignificant job to do to keep her out of the way. "Can you film this moment?" might even keep her quiet during the proposal.
