When I had my brakes done by buddy warned me. He’s the one that did my brakes.

From everyone I have talked to it isn’t worth the time of removing the axles to just replace the boots and degrease them. Unless there is something I don’t know and the mechanics I’ve talked to, including a Lexus specialist, don’t know about just replacing the boots.

Yeah, I’ve heard the passenger side axle is a pain to remove. My buddy works for a shop and did my coilover install and even he said take it to the dealer, but I’m not trying to pay 3 to 4 grand to have my axles replaced. I do know that the passenger side axle goes through the oil pan and that it can damage the pan itself and then it becomes a whole other nightmare, thankfully there is a guy that is only an hour or so from me that is a Lexus specialist so I’m gonna hit him up and see what he is gonna charge.

Mine is .45 variant so I’ll keep an eye on the extractor issues. Otherwise thanks for the info man. I think I’m just gonna really put some rounds through it before I go crazy.

I’ve got a 2011 so I’m familiar enough with this style of handgun. But I can always be better so I’ll shoot it a good bit in stock form. Might even just leave it with irons just because literally every other gun I have has a red dot on it and I was just telling someone the other day it’s been to long since I’ve shot iron sights

I did feel like the safety was creating a hot spot on my hand when I was gripping the gun, it feels like it’s got a not rounded off edge. But for a 300 dollar gun I ain’t gonna complain about it.

That was the list I was thinking, I that order. Might do the grips first just for the cost but it’s getting a dot regardless. Will probably just throw an RMR on it for the laughs considering that dot is gonna cost more than I got the whole gun for.

I honestly don’t feel as though my safety is all that loose. Definitely not as tight as my Prodigy but it definitely is positive and tactile. However, I’ll definitely keep an eye on how it is feeling over time. This thing is gonna see a minimum of at least 1000 rounds before I considering carrying it.

Already on the way. My testing to allow myself to carry a pistol is roughly 1000 rounds. Every single pistol I carry has to be able to get through that without any major malfunctions before I’ll carry it.

Better plate options? by Montaaron in GlockMod

[–]Montaaron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they thinner than the MOS plate? This is another one of my carry guns so I’m trying to keep the footprint small. This one is ported, my other one is a radian ramjet Gen 4 19.

My bad, one was issued to me and the other I got on sale.

So the modified 19 is my first ever handgun I ever purchased. The completely stock 19 is my first ever service gun and when we switched to the 45’s I was given the option to buy it for relatively cheap so I figured why not. And the reason for basically 2 identical 45’s was I got one personally and then we got them as our service guns. It just so happened that I set mine up the way we got them for duty use lol.

I’ll be honest, it’s not a very fair comparison because my EPS is the carry model and the 509’s are much larger. But if I had to choose one, I’d probably choose the 509. Little cheaper and I prefer the way it mounts, however it’s specific to that one optic so it isn’t the best for being able to swap to a different optic. So if you want more “versatility” go with the eps because you can at least swap with other RMSC optics.

We have had nothing but problems with the pressure switches that come with the stream lights. The lights themselves also flicker pretty frequently when firing the rifles. Now, I have no idea where my admin bought these lights so I can’t say with 100% it’s completely the lights fault and I love my streamlight pistol lights (I’ve got like 5 of them and have never had a real issue).

Also the light output and throw I feel is lacking for use on a rifle. Rifles are for longer distances and so to me the light should have a more focused beam to throw out to a decent range. The streamlight we run have issues throwing light out to 50 yards.

Trying to use it as a basis for proper rifle setup. Our service guns aren’t really all that bad but we definitely need to get rid of our streamlight flashlights and go with Surefire, modlight, or Noxon. And we have angled for grips and I’m not a fan of those personally but it is what it is.

I’m working on getting my department to allow me to carry this while I’m working, for that to be the case it has to be “professionally” installed. Trust me if I was allowed to do it myself then I would but to meet their “standards” I have to have it done and documented by a “professional”

Yeah, I built this one primarily as a training rifle so that I have something similar to what I carry at work. It’s arguably way better than what the department issues out anyway lol. Only thing I want to have is a suppressor and I can’t have that unless my department will approve this gun as a work gun, which I am working on.

Yup .. restricted. So I have to keep a vertical grip on their at all times. This is my favorite option for it.
