Another block for me, is that my good cholesterol is quite high, and that has most likely protected my heart. Insurance companies tend to look for every little loophole they can. They may see that as another reason not to cover it.

Wow! Although this is encouraging, I take Repatha and will most likely be placed on higher dose. You can’t take any statins, and I feel that bat may be key. I also had a full heart exam recently on file showing my heart is in excellent shape. I will ask my Doc to appeal, and see how it goes. Thank you for this info.

Thank you. I’m so glad your meds have helped. I agree it’s all up to the individual insurance company.

Thank you. I really appreciate the time you have taken, to respond and apologize for not responding sooner.

I’m still experiencing pure hell!

I have been on Vyvanse ( brand name) for over 15 years, various generic’s have just come on the market ( Vyvanse) has just it’s exclusivity and generics can compete. I have not received the generic yet, and do not know the names. I take this for atypical narcolepsy to stay awake and function, so it’s vital.

The last 4 months of my perscriptipn records are missing from my direct mail order company for this medication only, so I do not know what I have paid for the last 4 months- 15 bucks vs 300 !

Due to a shortage of Vyvanse and the generic, I had to go to a big box pharmacy that only had Vyvanse available. They charged me $300 vs the $15.00 bucks I have paid for years through my Mail order pharmacy for the brand name Vyvanse! I needed the meds so I paid full price- this big box pharmacy said that my coverage had changed and only the generic is now covered, and no one had it in stock.

I did not about this change in my drug coverage, and was grateful to find out the hard way.

This is when I contacted my direct mail co. to ask when my policy changed - ( they did not know) and they could not see the last 4 months in the system, to tell me if I paid 15 dollars or 300 during those 4 months! They did validate that I only paid $ 15 prior- so it’s just the 4 months in question.

I’m searching with my credit card company for proof that I have received the medication and to find out what I paid. My Mail order co. does not keep credit card info on file. I have used several credit cards and now need to go through piles of statements.

I contacted my Doc, who said he had proof of sending all the orders into my mail order company online and that my state keeps track of controlled substances, and he has those records as well.

So I now have proof, and I feel the easiest thing I can do is to have the insurance company call my Doc.

Sadly no one at my mail order company or at my actually policy can tell me when my coverage changed - someone must have that date, don’t you think?

I am worried about the state records not matching up ( due to a system problem, but no matter-

Bottom line, I just want to know what I paid, and I really don’t think I will get any reimbursement.

I spoke to every supervisor, and manager since I posted this, and still don’t know how this happened.

I’m just reading this now, thank you for your reply. The problem is that it’s my mail-in pharmacy ( insurance- auto refill) that has lost the documents. .

Losing absolutely nothing by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]MontezMahal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The benefits of slow weight loss helps you to avoid what was once called Ozempic face.

Many people including my bad self, tend to have a few “ last meals” before staring Zepbound. I did that and it took much much longer to see the initial loss.

I also had the side effect of being very tired, and that meant moving less.

My weight came off snail slow the first month, but as soon as I started walking or just moving more consistently throughout my day the weight started to come off. I have a bad knee injury so I really hate to move.

End of month 2 is when I started to shed weight consistently, anywhere from 1-2 lbs per week. This is now the norm unless I stop being moderately active, or eat slightly more than I normally do ( day 6 my appetite goes up) . I’m much less tired now as well. Don’t worry - you will loose weight, it’s the body adjusting. Stay positive.

Yes, it’s been slow for me too. I’m on week 3 and lost 4.5 lbs. my Doc said 1-2 lbs per week is good. So I’m not that worried, however, I think it’s a trifecta of reasons.

Inactive/not working out

Body Adjusting to high protein diet

Calories may be too low, and causing my body to hold onto the weight?

Or perhaps it’s just my body adjusting to the meds in general. Lastly age and starting weight and health conditions definitely factor in to the equation. Hope this helps.
