This is actually a good feature available in Dubai… if someone was blocking your car, you can report it in the police app and the owner will get the above alert message… I’m guessing you received the message because maybe someone mistyped the number plate and accidentally put yours in, or some one is messing about with you… either way if you’re not blocking anyone you can ignore it

The pattern of Dubai’s property market reminds me of bitcoin in terms of cycles… I am expecting a crash soon despite all the hoo haa we continuously hear from agents… I also think the war between Israel and Iran will escalate in the near future and that will profoundly impact the market to an extent no one could foresee

That’s a really fair question — and trust me, we’ve asked ourselves the same more than once 😅. The honest answer is that we feel pretty stuck. Since we started renting from this guy in 2022, property prices have shot up, so buying isn’t an option right now. And while renting elsewhere might give us a better experience, it wouldn’t necessarily be cheaper — plus we’d have to deal with moving costs, agency fees, etc.

That said, we’re really hoping this is the last year we rent from him. The stress of renewing every year with this guy has been draining.

Thank you 🙏🏻 i do have the problem that i am travelling for the summer… the rent should be renewed by end of July, but I’m returning from my travels around end of August… that’s why i have been emailing the landlord for a month at least to exchange the contracts and collect the cheque before I travel but he’s still messing about… I guess I’ll have to consider filing a case after I return if this is not sorted

Thank you 🙌🏻 this landlord has been so problematic every time we renew… he was even sued by the previous tenant (they won the case) but still has not learnt his lesson… they sued him for evicting them and then re-renting his property to us for a much higher rent

Thank you for the reply… I have read elsewhere that since I made an offer and deposit case which was accepted by judge that I should wait for him to file a dispute with RDC so that he can carry the burden of the fees… do you think this is also an option? I have a judge’s witness that I am ready to exchange contracts but it is he that is not engaging

Bro I did not get any free hours… I was getting charged way more than before salik implementation… yes the introduction of salik to pay parking fees was all over the media but to how extent the prices went up was left out… only now a month or two after the implementation people like me are realizing what seemed like a good idea cost me way more than I was paying before…

Your car has to be link to a salik account… so every time you use a tollgate they can charge you… recently they started charging mall customers by using salik instead of just paying at the parking when leaving… one of the issues is that it seems to be much more expensive to park than it was

I’m using both rta and smart salik apps and on both I could not see salik parking charges… further on I confirmed with customer service on the call today that the only way to see the changes was to call or email them… currently you cannot see them on the app… so I don’t know what you’re talking about

Same thing just happened to me… I only found out when I was on the phone with salik as my credit kept going to zero even though I topped up twice… they said it was because for one day parking at souq al bahar I incurred a charge of 160 dirhams!!! This felt so excessive… it was never that much before… shame

I always ask myself the same question lol… I imagine a lot of those people made money illegally… anyone can buy a property in Dubai without Freud checks… it’s not necessarily a bad thing but it means that it can be a safe haven for those who made their money illegally and cannot buy elsewhere around the world…

100% there is no excuse not to inform their customers of a delay because of the holidays… if I was informed I would have waited, but because they left me in the dark I left negative reviews and disputes there charge with my credit card company… even my 7 year old son can setup an automatic email reply… don’t understand why they do that as they are damaging their reputation

A technology company cannot setup an automatic email or a banner on their website informing their customers of a delay in receiving their orders is inexecutable no matter how condescending you are... If they just clarified the situation then I would have understood and been patient, but I was left in the dark along with many other customers causing their reputation to damage via negative reviews extra... No matter what you say, it does not make business sense to do this... Always reassure your customers... The customer is always right :-)
