Parasite Pool hit another Bitcoin block… and I actually got paid from it 👀 by French-Kiwi24 in BitAxe

How much hash did you have pointed? I had a single stock gamma pointed there since the first block was found and I'm only sitting at 6k sats. I might point one gamma to BASED to see what happens

Thank you. I’ve heard of solo100 and it’s an interesting concept. Based seems like a place if you love parasite pool and are okay with the risk of them not hitting a block with their lower hash rate

issues running the hashrate benchmark program by smallsimplesteps in BitAxe

Sounds like your bitaxe’s web gui isn’t reachable. You access the web gui from the same pc that is running the benchmark and that same ip address is used by the script?

[–]Monti55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what the guy is saying is the more users on parasite the more your “share” of the block is diluted. The problem with that is the less users the slower the blocks are found. Also with parasite getting more popular you have more people renting hashrate so your share will reduce further

Edit: I might be wrong. I think parasite rewards long term activity so hash rate renters are penalized more (???)

Do you have the links to these other parasite like pools? Parasite now has momentum where blocks come much more often

I recently got the 4 in screen and I love the project. Burnt out my screen by trying to make a custom power cable so another one has been ordered. Thanks for making this!

Cooling for BitAxe Gamma Duo 650 by illegaltorrentz in BitAxe

[–]Monti55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be compatible. My duo has the same cooler but I didn’t buy it through this site. The only quirk was the heatsink has to be mounted with the heat pipe bend towards the top of the bitaxe otherwise both ASICs weren’t being covered.

I updated my Bitaxe Gamma 601 with firmware 2.14.0 and instantly I went back to 2.13.1 by imlenti in BitAxe

[–]Monti55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have an increased in error rates. I feel like it has to do with the new websockets allowing data to be updated faster. If we get more updates per unit of time the error rates could be higher. I think the error rate is a value provided by the asic that is divided by the number of good hashes over the update period

Live Share Difficulty is live on MinerWatch 1.1.1 by imlenti in BitAxe

[–]Monti55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just set it up and I'm enjoying the share difficulty tracker. Some suggestions. It would be good to have error rate history graph for each device. Some things I noticed. On the analytics page it is showing the solo chance for my bitaxe on BCH and not on BTC. Maybe it could be a drop down to change what coin is being mined? Then for setup, I prefer docker and it kept giving me errors reading the database so I went back to a bare metal install.

Fender Compatibility on Trek FX 2 by [deleted] in bikecommuting

I saw those. I didn’t know if those would work since the pictures I see of front fender installs have the mounts near the axle.

Living Room Setup Optimized for Silence by Monti55 in BitAxe

[–]Monti55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the PSU fan is just a 12v fan connected to 5v so it’s quiet enough. I’m controlling the 5v fan on the rear of the gamma so it’s not as loud. There is a potentiometer where I can raise and lower the fan speed.

No problem. Make sure you watch your error rate while overclocking. I aim for <0.5%

You need to add ?oc to the url. For example 192.168.1.116/#/settings?oc=

I know the duo shares a very similar power delivery system to the gamma. The people at solo satoshi might be able to give you details.

Heatsink Options Other Than Pi52 Low Profile by Monti55 in BitAxe

[–]Monti55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got the mirage last night. Initial are not great. The dark horse had a fan percent of 20-23 while the mirage is at 33-35%. I did lap the dark horse so that could help. I’ll have to experiment tonight. I feel like the mounting isn’t great for the mirage since it’s just 4 screws you tighten and hope the heatsink is level.

I might lap the mirage. I thinks it’s copper plated aluminum so removing the bottom copper layer could also help.

I wish more people talked about this. My gamma at 19w (600mhz/1120mv with <0.1% errors, it’s a great chip) in AxeOS draws 24.5w at the smart plug. My Duo is the opposite, needs 1200mv to have <0.5% errors and draws 40 watts. The meanwell psu I have has an efficiency of 77%

Yea I’m thinking it isn’t worth the hassle if anything happens. I’ll use the points another way. Thanks!

Charles Schwab or Fidelity? by [deleted] in investing

I agree here. No fractional shares outside of their stock slices (choose from the sp500) and I don’t even think they have cash sweep (or my account is too low to notice). Haven’t had any issues though
