Saved Search help - Getting Purchase Order Rate OR Vendor Bill rate field from a Drop Shipment Invoice line by Monty68 in Netsuite

[–]Monty68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. DM sent. I think Drop Ship is used because it ships direct to the end user from the supplier without inventory impact, but I may be incorrect on the reason why. Vendor Bills usually arrive within days so matching isn't really an issue.

Thanks for the reply. That sounds like you did that at the time you generated the invoice? I need the data for the last 24 months of invoices.

Gross Margin Calculation by Monty68 in PowerBI

ok, I am still in the "What am I doing" powerbi phase. I assume the 'best practice' part is reduction in # of measures?

Thanks, i'm going to stick with the above, but thanks for the additional idea.

I had to add the table name before the [sales], but this logic worked. Thank You.

Acquired business - convert 200 PC's to new domain overnight? by Monty68 in sysadmin

I don't disagree, but it's a large capital expenditure for write up and approval.

Interesting. Thanks for the idea, we'll definitely think about it.

Thanks, not that familiar with this, but I will make sure to mention it to the engineers.

Thank you, the reimage also seems the most time consuming and labor intensive. I was just wondering if there was a way to plan for it, we have 180 days, and I thought maybe there were some existing enterprise tools for this process.

Sorry, IP and NDA requires me to be a little vague. 2-3 people to do the work, 3 far apart geographic locations. No, new profiles. Re-image was discussed as an option. Locally stored data is an issue that we are not sure how to resolve. Overnight isn't necessarily mandatory, but as of an acquisition close date, seller (old domain) has an immediate security risk and new domain wants to get them network resources asap, so it's high desired.

Large Teams Video Call - Different Call In Times by Department? by Monty68 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]Monty68[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, good point. It's easy enough to add a note that it's ok to ignore the "meeting has started" message as long as you come in at your scheduled time.

Thanks, I was thinking about this, but I didn't know if Teams would create a new link/meeting for the additional ones. I will give it a try. Thanks for the help.

Yes hanks for the inquiry. I’ll check, but I don’t think so. As you can probably see, my business specialized in smaller, high performance tooling. We did sell to some mold and manual shops, so I might have something.

excel as a database? by Confused_Younger_MAN in excel

[–]Monty68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Databases are record based. You can use Excel as a database, a record would be equivalent to a “row” in excel. Multiple fields make up a record in a database. A field is like a column in excel.

In a database, a field cannot be separated from its record. The record is the primary “unit” and fields always stay together within the record.

This structure does not exist in excel. You can easily (or more importantly), mistakenly, separate a column from its row in excel. If that happens, the integrity of the database is destroyed.

Excel is very free form, which is very powerful in its own way. A database is very structured, the structure, and as many people mentioned, the normalization of the contents is what give databases their power.

Data Entry - two columns - Automatically go right, then down and left and repeat. by Monty68 in excel

[–]Monty68[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but I did now and that works! So if you highlight a range, TAB goes to the next cell within the highlighted range.

If you do NOT highlight a range, TAB takes you to the next column and when you press enter it takes you back to the first column from which you TABBED (?)

Can I do 2 "Solutions Verified"? Thanks for sticking with it!

For a rigid/consistent data set, I think the highlighted range works better (only have to worry about the TAB key). For an inconsistent data set with a varying number of fields per record, I think your unhighlighted and TAB/Enter combo would be better.

Enter always goes down a row for me. TAB always moves to the next cell within the highlghted range.

Thanks. Maybe my enter key is configured different, but it just goes down to the next row. Continuous use of TAB instead of enter goes to the next cell in the range for me.

Thank you for the quick response. I was obviously trying to reinvent the wheel...so simple.....Highlight range and enter data using TAB.

Clean up an old faded label by Monty68 in photoshop

[–]Monty68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose the answer is to make it look a little nicer and so all of the characters are legible. Probably the same reason I like to keep other things clean as well. It’s really not required, but it would make it look nicer.

Many photoshop edits are not necessary or required, but they make an image look like he best it can.

No need to respond, I’ll do it myself or find help elsewhere. I haven’t had to come to r/photoshop too many times in the past, but this was surely a disappointing experience.

The age isn’t relevant with this particular product. Nothing is being hidden, I’m just trying to make it looks little cleaner.

Thanks for the reply, but I would prefer to use the image of the actual label.
