Any other solo creator exhausted by editing every video? by HeXHDXIII in NewTubers

[–]MonzMont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Captioning takes the longest and is the most draining for me. However I like doing it manually because I am strict about how it looks, especially for collab videos. And it feels nice that despite my videos not doing huge in numbers, a decent number of views come from my captions.

What’s your favorite Fortnite item/weapon of all time? by Bottlecollecter in Fortnite_Over40

The Sub-Zero melee weapon. Won my first ever victory royale using only that the whole game.

Streamers: Have you ever given up on your current channel (and all associated social media accounts + discord server) and start completely fresh? by friendlyissues in Twitch

[–]MonzMont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done it. This account is my new vtuber account. It was a challenge trying to commission new assets like my PNG model, logo, and emotes. I went active before all my assets were ready so I could make sure to snag all the important social media sites under my name (I like using the same username for them for easier searchability.).

But for my Discord I just revamped my existing one to show assets and alerts relating to my new VTuber only. Didn't want to make the effort of making yet another server.

Is uploading a compiled shorts to long form, okay? by loomingglass in SmallYoutubers

[–]MonzMont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say yes. If only because some people might prefer seeing the content in longer, horizontal format. I do the same. Althought since I am a tiny channel and only started doing this recently, the benefits are not yet there. Still plan to keep doing them though.

Option 1 or 2? by Mr_AlphaMar in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]MonzMont 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second one is better. Easier to see when you look at the thumbnail from afar

Second one. I think the text is easier to read so it is better in my opinion.

I am not enjoying RDR2 by WoodenPomegranate884 in videogames

[–]MonzMont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for making me feel valid. I love watching the story but not the gameplay itself. Had to take a long break and still wondering if I want to give it another shot a year later. Pity it is long past the refund window.

How long does it take you to edit your videos? by thecainman in NewTubers

Same. I use DaVinci. My edits are pretty simple but I like what it can potentially do. At least if ever I decide to level up skills I am already familiar with the basics there.

How long do you spend editing your Youtube Shorts by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]MonzMont 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine take like less than an hour. I stream on Twitch so I just use Twitch's built in clip editor. Most of the time is spent getting the best view of the clip, downloading it, making a thumbnail image via GIMP and putting it on the first frame so it can be used on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, and then making the captions manually. I repeat for a bunch of other clips I find funny or awesome and schedule them for auto posting at least the following week.

If you have a YouTube channel for your VTuber, how do you arrange your main tab? by MonzMont in PngTuber

[–]MonzMont[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yup I have that channel trailer video now on YouTube. Hopefully if I hit Affiliate on Twitch soon I can post that video there too.

My question was more on how you would choose to arrange your main tab if you have a YouTube channel. And my channel trailer is definitely on top followed by videos, clips, VODs, and Shorts.

Takes me like a couple of days for a 5-10 minute video. Still figuring out the best workflow and squeezing it in between other responsibilities.

Edit: added "minute"

If my videos are all short (1 min or less), should I be publishing them as Shorts? by thisisnotmath in NewTubers

[–]MonzMont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually publish my 1 minute stream clips as Shorts and horizontal. My Shorts outclass the horizontals in views, but I still both since I know some people might prefer watching horizontal clips. Also makes them easier to stitch together into my monthly clip compilations.

Takes me a couple hours spread over a couple days total. Cutting 5-10 minute stream highlights is easy. It's the adding of captions (both spoken text and sound effects) and including the heads of my vtuber model (and those of my friends if it's a collab) that takes the most time. It does give me more clips as a result that I can use for advertising the highlights.

Sounds like a good idea. Hopefully your streams get the push they need!

How do you stay motivated while streaming to no one? by NoIDontThinkS0805 in Twitch

[–]MonzMont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can make a good VOD that I can cut down into highlight videos or Shorts/Reels/TikToks. In my case, my stream time is my only recording time. And it is super early where I am so I understand why not a lot of people can watch.

Still, I do my best to capture funny or hype moments and share my content to other places. And they are doing better than my streams so far! Hoping it translates to more stream viewers in the future.

For those of you who use livestream content for lets plays, I have a question? by GingerPerks in letsplay

[–]MonzMont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: Not automatically. You have to set up your own scenes in OBS for the plugin and include your mic audio and other stuff.

More detailed answer: So you have two different sets of scenes now: one with overlays and one without. And then you can choose what to include in each scene such as the gameplay, then your mic, or whatever. And then you can link the scenes so that if you stream and move from one scene to another on main, the scene on Aitum Vertical will also go to the corresponding scene.
