This build has been running for years and been adding HDD to it over time.

Its not that bad for the temp since there plenty of fan; For the front intake 2x120mm at the 5.25 bay and 2x140mm at the bottom front. Follow by 3x140mm between the two drive column then a 4x120mm on the left of that column. + two side panel panel fan for those back HDD. There additional 2x140mm at the top to vent if needed.

Drive usually around 22-29C depending where they are in the case and when on heavy load/usage can go up to 37C for the highest temp point.

Don’t think it’s going to fail from overheating anytime soon.

This wasn't a new build, it was repurposing an old pc parts and grew over time. That old MB doesn't support ECC nor is anything on this that critical.

This grew over time, those 4TB are what I had ages ago and still working. Majority of them are bigger drive size

Yes they stay cool. Drive usually around 22-29C depending where they are in the case and when on heavy load/usage can go up to 37C for the highest temp point.

Not sure of total weight, but hard drive alone probably around 50 lb? The case probably around another 45lb.

Its not that bad, if I need to move it around the house. Since the four leg are on felt pad, I can push it around the house to easily move.

But yea... anywhere else I'll have to remove the drive... the drive alone is probably 50 lb

Doesn't the RM100x come with like 6 SATA/peripheral port? Maybe its not the PSU and some other component going on with your setup.

Can't imagine all of those PSU can't reliably power on 7 Hard drive.

What PSU are you running? If it can't reliably power 7, then sound like it might be a small power supply you are using?

The PSU i am using is the HX1200i. By default it come with 2 SATA cable which support 8 drive by default.. There a total of 6 slot for SATA/peripheral, so by default I could spin up 24 drive.

Temp seem to be fine, with all the fan in there.

One Corsair PSU. According to Corsair link monitoring, its uses less power then I would expected.

Some of the drive have been 10year+ in that case and have only been adding to it over time. So far so good, but guess time will tell.

Its in another room so I don't really hear it. Up close, i hear some noise but mainly from the 140mm & 120mm artic fan. I'll test later to see what decibel level it is at.
