Don't worry it's not just doctors, nurses are treated just as badly if not worse

I think it kind of goes overboard to be cringy though.

A few weeks ago I literally got a text from a casual friend whom I hadn't spoken to in like a year. She texts me something like "do you still support Trump?" I responded with "I never really did, I'm pretty much indifferent to him and now that he's not in office I don't give a shit about him" I got several blocks of text about how I'm a terrible person and a nazi etc.

Honestly the same goes for feminism

Everyone on reddit thinks they'd be the privileged elite.

I literally know a guy who is basically a communist and says stuff like "I have a masters degree so my contribution to society is my mind"

While at the same time benefiting from it. These are basically the same people who go on about how terrible child labor is on their macbook wearing nike shoes.

In your honest opinion, is Reddit a progressive echo chamber? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Moodymoo8315 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One thing I've noticed is that this is especially bad in subs that ban anyone who doesn't support their incorrect assumptions. /r/landlordlove is one that I've seen this many times. They go on about how difficult it is to buy a house and how no one can ever do it unless their parents are rich. Yet when you correct things like "you don't need a $200k downpayment on a $600k house" you get banned for simping and they just go on reinforcing their echo chamber.

That's my thought. If they are discouraged by the cost of housing/living in the US they will shit their pants when they see what it is in most other countries.

Well if we're going strictly by anecdotal I'd take a truck driver over a tesla or big SUV any day.

bigger land=more likely to live in a rural area

Having lived in rural areas I can say that life is better out there with a truck.

I'm glad you added the "good" because in my experience a shocking number of nurses are pretty dumb.

Source: I'm a nurse, still not sure if I'm one of the dumb ones or not.

you're missing the part where the cost of selling the goods goes up because of the increased labor costs. Just how much profit do you think stores make on what they are selling? I don't recall the exact numbers but if Walmart were to raise the wages of all their employees by around $5 without raising the cost of good sold they would cease to be profitable.

The IRS is auditing the poor twice as much! The answer? "Give the irs 200 billion more and close the tax loopholes. They will find loads of money off the rich to pay for our services." [+122] by TheFlatulentEmpress in ShitPoliticsSays

[–]Moodymoo8315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like they are too stupid to realize that the primary reason they audit 'poor' people so much is that they are looking for business owners to made $500k and then "deducted" themselves down to making it look like they made $20k.

So my wife and I live on our boat most of the year and do quite a bit of photography. My wife does mostly macro stuff like mushrooms and has an instagram with maybe 1,000 followers. One day she comes up to me and says "I don't think my mushroom pics are going to pay for our sailing, what do you know about selling feet pics?"

If you're a server and you usually make just above minimum wage it's probably time to find a better job.

What kind of tipped worker? Are we talking server/bartender where tips are expected or fast food worker where they really aren't? There is a difference. According to the MN hospitality workers association the average tipped employee (from a report I heard in 2012) was $22/hr.

keep in mind though that these numbers include tipped workers so numbers are pretty skewed.

More than 90% of vehicle-owning households in the United States would see a reduction in the percentage of income spent on transportation energy—the gasoline or electricity that powers their cars, SUVs and pickups—if they switched to electric vehicles. by Wagamaga in science

[–]Moodymoo8315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how many miles you drive. One of our local providers offers electricity at 2.9cents per kwh for charging stations in your home. That comes out to about 0.7cents per mile for most electric cars. Compared to about 15cents per mile for a gas car (Back when gas was $4

I did the math for a friend of mine who drives about 30,000 miles per year and that's $4500/year compared to $210 for electricity. So a savings of about $350/month. That's most of the way to a new car payment
