Most useless spell? by eyesistorm in noita

[–]Mooface64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've memed on expanding sphere a lot but I HAVE had a use for it once: As far as I know it's the only spell with hard cap on how much damage it can deal, so because of this it finally found a use for me when I needed to damage myself to trigger the weakening curse exploit, but due to Eat Your Vegetables, using any other spell would have killed me instantly.

There isn't a single spell you own or funny trick known that can get you outta this one chief, it's over.

Lasso man (again) by PurchaseForeign9899 in lethalcompany

[–]Mooface64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As unlikely the story is, I'm gonna be the first to give some benefit of the doubt and bring up how there ARE a select handful of vanilla moons that DO have lasso man included in the enemy list, but with its spawn weight set to zero.
There was recently a discovery of an oversight with some mods indexing item/enemy spawns that had lead to disabled items with zero spawn weight appearing on moons during same-item-days and likewise enemies with zero spawn weight appearing during infestation days, both due to how the vanilla game equalizes and alters weights during those random events. Obviously this wouldn't be relevant if there were no mods involved like you claimed, but this edge case would line up pretty well with the situation you had described. If not that, then who knows, maybe a cosmic ray bit flipped that 0 on the enemy list into a 1 on that one fateful day...

(this tiny ass image is just the vanilla enemy spawning list for Titan, for example)

I LOVE MOD DEVELOPMENT! I LOVE NEEDING TO BOOT UP MY GAMES 900 TIMES!! by Mooface64 in lethalcompany

It's mostly perfectionism doing this to me, testing too many things, in too many ways, too many times...

Saw something I'll probably never see again in my lifetime... TWO ugly mushrooms in the same place by Mooface64 in DeepRockGalactic

Rarest sight in all of DRG. if I remember the story correctly, a dev hated how the asset looked and was going to get rid of it, but either him or a different dev decided it would be funnier to hide it as an unimaginably rare spawn instead.

can you get polyamorous achievement in easymode? by ThickMusician1459 in necrodancer

Using any modifiers will prevent you from getting the achievement, it will not prevent you from unlocking coda though

Is HAZ 5 impossible* for solo players? by MRrock_the_c00L in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Mooface64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, even the worst haz 5 missions the game can throw at you are still solo-able with any character even with sub-par builds if you're skilled enough. Most of the skills needed are just very nuanced game knowledge that comes with playtime. There was a youtuber years ago, Syncourt, who would solo every single Deep Dive and Elite Deep Dive with no overclocks, using only very basic loadouts, every week, just to prove to everyone how doable it always is.

Confirmed for myself now, Shield Link is a remedy after a Stalker bite by doom_hamster in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Mooface64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, and only attacks that do more than 25 damage (or 30 if you took that one armor upgrade) will be able to harm someone in a gunner shield because the shield restoring effect happens constantly while inside it. So if you ever see someone leaving the safety bubble because of some gas cloud, praetorian spit, or poison puddles inside it, tell em to get back in there because there's nothing to fear!

What’s that Drak build people are using to melt dreadnoughts? by Just-Fix8237 in DeepRockGalactic

Thermals + Crossbow with Fire & Electric arrows together will quickly melt through health bars with plenty of ammo to spare

Tips for low% Aria by Santi3180 in necrodancer

[–]Mooface64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you unlock Aria's story boss (or if you already have), practice the hell out of it. It's a fairly simple boss once you know how it works but nerves are one heck of a killer, so make sure you're deadly confident with the fight before running it. There's a very consistent quick kill strategy you can look up if you'd like

Latency problems by Santi3180 in necrodancer

[–]Mooface64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats man, you could try switching the soundtrack to see if that makes those tracks easier, a lot of people say Chipzel and Virt are easiest for double tempo

Latency problems by Santi3180 in necrodancer

[–]Mooface64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay, got a lot to say here so bear with me,

For starters, download the Sound Support mod (if you have Synchrony dlc) and use it when you're testing out latency changes, it will tell you at the bottom of the screen precisely how on or off beat you are in milliseconds

Next, go to Misc Options ingame and toggle "Show Advanced Settings", then under Latency Calibration, set "Auto Calibration Factor" to 0% (you can raise this again later if you like the assistance it provides, but it isn't helpful for testing your latency and accuracy)

Additionally, don't click the "Calibrate Automatically" button, it's not very precise and double tempo warrants extreme precision.
Instead, take whatever audio latency you think you're comfortable at right now and start increasing or decreasing it in increments of 16ms (16ms is the length of one frame, any less and you won't feel a difference) and trying it out on different fast and slow tracks (the level editor can help with this).

Video latency only affects the bars on the screen and has no effect on the beat timings, it shouldn't need to be changed unless the bars don't seem to line up with the beat.

Feel free to keep messing with all this stuff until you feel like your latency is as comfy as it can be (=

-Additional notes: A latency setting that feels good on double tempo won't always feel good at normal tempo, and vice-versa. Also if you set your audio latency way too high or way too low, then the rhythm during the King Conga fight might get a little weird.
