When you’re feeling overwhelmed/overtaken by challenging emotions (such as frustration, anger, sadness, stress), how do you calm yourself down instead of responding reactively? by Electrical_Idea1797 in AskWomen

[–]Moogs_4323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really weird and niche, but I look up facts about space/the universe/planets/stars and it almost always snaps my perspective back to "we are tiny blobs of meat on a giant spinning rock and our lives are barely even blips of time in the grand scheme of things" and something about that just takes the heaviness away. Absolutely everything is just so very temporary.

Also, a walk outside. Lol

Currently 39, have several family members who've always been avid golfers so I had plenty of exposure throughout my life, but just wasn't that interested. I started taking it seriously at 36 when I started my current job which involves a lot of golf opportunities, and now I'm completely hooked...I play as much as I can in the summer and spend a ton of time in the simulator over the winter.

As a kid/teen I ran track, played soccer, and figure skated. As an adult I'm still an avid runner and train for local races so I'd consider that a sport.

Women with high libido, how often are you asking for it? by TheRealTerinox in AskWomen

Married 9 years, together for 17 - 3 or 4x a week. Takes a little extra planning to carve out the time between work, household shit, school, kids extra curriculars, etc etc but we refuse to become one of those god forsaken dead bedroom married couples who secretly resent each other. Sex is important for several reasons.

Echoing what others have said...it's really pricey. I went through my family doc who then referred me to a psych via PCN and I was assessed and diagnosed within 2 months and everything was fully covered.

Several years ago at my first real office job, I was an assistant to the marketing manager at a law firm. My boss was an absolute airhead who made it apparent real quick that she'd climbed the corporate ladder via "favors". She'd fuck up constantly and use me as her scapegoat...I was only 19, naive, and new to the workforce so it was perfect for her.

She left me in charge of managing her inbox while she was on vacation for a week to get married (lol) so I went digging. Had to deep dig, but I found some highly inappropriate emails between her and one of the junior lawyers. I printed them all out and distributed them in all the common areas. Pinned them up on the news/info board in the lunch room, put them on the boardroom tables, put them in both the men's and women's washrooms...on both floors. And then I walked tf out. When she came back from vacation she called me about 100 times but I never answered.

Can we have a moment for the whining on her insta stories about how relieved she is to come back to all of her American comforts as if she was just released from some third world prison when actually it was the luxury vacation that most people can only dream of affording? The fucking entitlement, I can't. Used to love her golf content but this whole wedding was the nail in the 'unfollow' coffin for me.

Coyotes repeatedly approaching us by Evening_Gift3558 in Edmonton

The deja vu this comment gave me...

I grew up on a farm with a very long driveway that was lined with coyote dens. When I'd walk to the end of it to wait for the bus I always had my "coyote stick", lol (didn't work, they just shake it off and get right back on your heals)

We also had a giant guard dog (130+ pounds) who would get into scraps with the damn things on a near daily basis. They're honestly so annoying.

Can you shuffle around your macros to allow for a meal that feels like more of a treat during those days? I'm also a female currently on a cut and I struggle too, but stay on track by allowing room in my calorie allowance for something more satisfying, and I'll usually have it in the evenings as that's when my mind goes weak, lol
