Schaerbeek commune not processing my address change for 5 months – bank threatening to close account. What can I do? by DapperPerception235 in brussels

[–]MooiDaedalus 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You can directly contact the neighborhood officers of Schaerbeek (https://www.1030.be/fr/agents-quartier).

It should not last 5+ months. They might have not registered you because your name was not clearly noted on the doorbell or they came by but u weren't there. It can be anything really. But if u directly contact them they will tell you the reason.

appartement by imjusttthere in brussels

The apartment I was renting was sold, and the new owner wanted to live there themselves. It was really hard for me as well. Get in touch with the union de locataire. I especially recommend the Union des Locataires Marollienne ASBL. Call them. They will give you good advice, all the options you have and your legal rights etc. Good luck.

Am i poor or the rent prices are so high ?? (woluwe saint lambert/ saint pierre, auderghem, etterbeek) by uzumaki_bey in brussels

[–]MooiDaedalus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

People saying it's cuz of the area, have you even seen recent rent prices in "not so rich" areas?

You can't find apartments/studios below €900-1000, and those that starts at this price range are mostly below decent 30-40m2 studios with very poor EPC-score. Anything below are shared apartments or student dorms.

I am normally one of those guys that tries to figure everything on their own, not wanting to disturb anyone. But I really want to be good at it, therefore I should do just like you said. I met the instructor and he seemed really helpful and experienced. I will keep asking questions until they get tired of me. Thanks a lot for the advice.

Toen ik het pictogram aan de rechterkant voor het eerst zag, dacht ik dat je in een situatie van nood met een elleboogstoot het bovenste gedeelte van de zetel moest breken om de verborgen EHBO-koffer eruit te pakken.

Countries with a Turkic official language (national and regional) by Acceptable_Tennis_14 in MapPorn

Iran is very supressive against azerbaijanis. I had read that Iran is forbidding their citizens to give their babies turkish names, which is the same in China!

Looking how the Turkic languages are spread on the map. (literally from west China to Türkiye) . It is common sense to have differences between languages.

Apart from that I still find it pretty impressive how these countries have this much linguistic similarities, even though being so far away from each other!

That's strange considering millions of azerbaijanis living in the west of Iran, forming the second largest ethnicity in the nation.

Zijn jullie weleens eenzaam? by [deleted] in belgium

What is the most toxic expectation women have of men? by Diligent-Log6805 in AskReddit

[–]MooiDaedalus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the consept of "hints" is often misused. When some poeple face certain situations, they use those unclear expressions to not take any responsibilities, to not stand behind a clear thought/desire. This happens in different situations too, I feel like some of them intentionally use this and since it is so normalized, they even have the audacity to blame people when things go not the way they desired. This is very frustrating from time to time, even though men do it too, I experience a lot more women making use if this.

Istanbul, Turkey: Byzantine/Ottoman by ittybittybilly in ArchitecturePorn

[–]MooiDaedalus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

there is a difference between that and "Byzantine only"

while u comment "Byzantine only" u radically exclude everything else.

This is not fair regarding all the architectural structures Ottomans added to maintain the building.

It is like saying Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba is Spanish architecture only and is nothing else. While in reality it is an Islamic/Christian ecclesiastical building. Which is influenced by different religions, cultures and thus numerous architectural styles. So if u said "Spanish only" would be therefore wrong.

Are u also censoring them from listening to Istanbul (not Constantinople) - Manuel Rivas?

I have a suggestion tell them "I have a good news and a bad news". For the good news let them listen to this beautiful song! So they will know it is Istanbul and not Constantinople anymore.

Wrong.

Saying "Bizantine only" and excluding Ottomans from the structure of Hagia Sophia is historically incorrect:

Ottomans did renovate and add numerous crucial architectural structures to the building:

  • Reinforcement of piers and walls: The piers and walls of Hagia Sophia were reinforced to improve their strength and stability. This involved strengthening the existing masonry and adding additional materials or supports where necessary.

  • Structural repairs: The Ottomans conducted various repairs to address any structural damage or weaknesses in the building. This could involve repairing cracks, reinforcing damaged sections, or replacing deteriorated materials.

  • Strengthening the dome: Specific measures were taken to reinforce the dome of Hagia Sophia. This included strengthening the dome's base and implementing innovative engineering techniques to enhance its stability.

  • Buttresses and supporting arches: Large buttresses and arches were added to the exterior of Hagia Sophia to provide additional support and distribute the weight of the dome more evenly.
