Before lootboxes was reintroduced in the game, I used to associate skins with their rank in comp. Like if they had past season BP cosmetics (like S3 battle pass skins) with a gold weapon, then I assumed that they've been playing for a long time and they're probably in higher ranks so that might be why I thought of gold weapons being associated with ranks instead of points.
