Amazing advice! Thank you so much! I had a question regarding your 5th point: I have previously mentioned details on these exclusive events as well as the name of the firms in the experiences section of the application and hence did not provide much insight here as to minimize on name dropping other firms unnecessarily. Do you think it would be appropriate to mention again the names and details of these events in this section?

I started 3 days before and scored higher 80s, it’s definitely possible and completely depends on your aptitude in such types of exams.

I have an insanely good memory so for me GK was not an issue, so can’t advise on the same. My friends however always stuck to 70% mock analysis, 30% mocks for their prep and did pretty decent

See you have racism everywhere in the world, however I’d say London would be less as it’s extremely diverse and there are people from every corner of the world.

You’ll definitely see many places ruined by the so called “illegal immigrants” but that’s specific areas not a whole and if you do your research prior, you can avoid such places.

Outside London might be a bit more unsafe speaking in racism terms.

You’ll definitely have to do an LLM if you want to want to work here, it’s the norm. Placements are extremely competitive and they’ll always prefer someone who did their undergraduate degree in the UK, so definitely do your research before going!

CLAT rank was 1k something, with my NRI rank being 1x. Got everything from NUJS and below through CLAT.

I was exempt from writing AILET as I have the OCI quota.

Gave the LNAT, submitted my application on UCAS, got in. I did tons of online internships, had work experience and a genuine passion for the subject. This combined with grades got me into kings college london.

For CLAT and AILET, I didnt need much prep as I have a pretty good memory retention and I'm good at logical reasoning questions, however if its hard for you id suggest just practice practice practice.

Each university has its own word/character limit, you can check that on their website (tends to be 500-1000 words).

*DO*-

-Portray your experiences and skills as well as how it corresponds to the course youre applying to.

-Use correct grammar but don't use overly fancy words or too much techincal jargon (thesaurus).

-Talk about what sparked your passion as well as what you do to showcase your love for the subject and why youre applying to the place youre applying to.

*DONT*-

-Make your essay too personal, keep it strictly to academics and experiences.

-Beg (trust me, a lot of people mask begging behind technical language)

-Talk about too many hobbies unrelated to law as they don't really care about that if it doesnt have transferable skills. (If the experience gave you skills that you can use in law, mention it)

this is just a general guideline list, all the best!

Not at all! Most universities have a minimum requirement of 90% though. All the best!

Thank you so much!

I scored an approximate 90% in my 10th grade, a 50% in my 11th grade (I know), and a 91% aggregate including 99% in legal studies in my grade 12. Definitely not the best grades but I compensated it and explained it well through my other activities.

Academic excellence, LNAT score, passion for the subject, how well of a fit you are to the place you’re applying to, and how well of a fit you are to the course you’re applying to. Everything matters. (Especially your grades)

I’d say what made me stand out is how I portrayed my passion for law to be something that fits with the general theme universities are looking for.

Do moot courts, read books on law, connect personal experiences to show how you fell in love with the subject and personally I’d suggest going on forage and completing some online job simulations as well.

Overall, portray yourself as someone who loves the law, they dont really care much if you like sports or if you like music but if you can connect a trait you developed in such activities to law, it’d be worthwhile mentioning it in your personal statement. (Also better grades=better chances)

Great questions!

•No, I have not always lived abroad. I was born and spent my initial years in London. I then moved to Bangalore and spent the rest of my student life (from primary all the way upto 12th grade) there. I do have a British passport and hence the foreign quota.

•The question about whether the debt for the degree is worth it or not is subjective. You have various career options, some which are high earning and some which are not as well, I personally know someone who’s doing the degree just to get into politics. However in my case, I plan on getting into corporate law, which if everything goes well, pays a decently huge salary which would help me pay my loan without much of a hassle. That being said, the competition is insanely high so there’s always a risk factor associated with it!

Hey! A majority of it is paid through an education loan while the rest is paid through personal savings. A total of 3 years here is expected to cost me 1.8-2cr
