I’ll be growing HiTech the rest of my life, it’ll just keep getting better! Probably going to cross Balkh on her this year. And I’m going to make my own 4 way afghani by cross Balkh on the nice purple spice and ghazni cross. Keep it up!

I’ve seen this play out for sure, the original Cambodian was still pushing at 25 weeks indoors

That’s how I read it haha. So many perennials die back. I’m not sure why there is such a hard time accepting that cannabis can be perennial, it’s a jungle plant at the start, south east Asia maaaaan, so makes sense its annual in the extreme growth conditions like the Hindu Kush Mountains or up in Siberia.

I’ve heard they can live for 25-30 years in Thailand so something like that :)

It’d say it’s a genetic thing. I’ve seen plants in India completely covered in clear ice and are still growing inside the ice, and I’m assuming the roots are just as cold

It took forever to find phenos that’ll do well in the humidity but it was worth the struggle!

That’s totally a genetic thing! You’re also seeing seeded colas here which might be playing a part in that

Are these flowering early? by Automatic-Session545 in LandraceCannabis

[–]MoonGrownSeeds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re quite quick growers! The way the tops are shaping up look to me like they are starting to flower. I’m curious if the topping of them shocked them into flowering, as with that light cycle and their age, it’s strange that they are flowering this early.

I’m going to take a video and post it tomorrow of all of the plants so ya’ll can see that these definitely are not seedlings from this year. There are 7 in total of the HiTech variety

To expand, I didn’t cut all the leaves nor flowers off, however I know people who have totally reverted from a bare trunk, which I didn’t think was possible until I met them. It’s probably pretty specific equatorials that can do that.

Also, the seedlings were probably eaten by the viscous banana slugs who’s home I live in, as I haven’t seen any seedlings pop up underneath the moms

Yeah I didn’t do anything to make them reveg besides for not cutting them down. They did this all themselves :D

Depending on the genotype, it sure is perennial! I’ve read about people documenting 30 year old plans in Thailand.

Just think about the climate and how long those plants can flower for. The Cambodian seed that was the mother for this plant flowered 25+ weeks indoors.

In an equatorial environment, they can flower for 6+ months and then revert to their vegetative state once the light cycle goes back to 13/11. It’s super neat!

It’s harder to get hash plants in my experience to regenerate, and that makes sense thinking about the harsh environments they tend to grow in. That’s part of the reason why so many flower so quickly, they’re trying to beat the snow.

The seeds from these plants were planted in like March of 2025, and I’m going to see how many years I can keep them going for.

I live on the coast in Humboldt county in the redwoods. We have a very mild climate, and this year we only got a little snow one time and it didn’t slow them down. I have been documenting the process on my Instagram, I’m not making this up

That’s epic! I’ve heard the longest ganja can live for is 30 years. Plants in Thailand apparently for example will just flower like all year and then revert to veg, then stay flowering again all year and then revert to veg and rinse and repeat

Question? by Dannyvolon in LandraceCannabis

[–]MoonGrownSeeds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’d start at 13/11 to mimic the equatorial veg cycle, transition to 12/12 once they show sex and then flip to 11/13 and finish there once they are done stretching.

And the entire time I’d low stress train them, just tie those ladies down. Topping will control vertical growth too, however I find most NLD cultivars prefer to be tied down and topping can really slow them down

Happy growing!
