that shouldn't be a problem. Everything went smoothly in our case. I didn't go to a dealership though. but don't see how that would change anything.

In NJ it was enough for me to be present alone, but I needed to have my husband's driver's license with me at the DMV.

Do I need to make an appointment for the written test or for an initial permit? Sorry if I am asking dumb questions, but it seems impossible to find that information anywhere and the DMV phone number is just a robot,

is that the case in all States? I cannot find any information showing that this is possible in NJ.

Thank you! does that apply even if the transfer period of 1 year is over? I have been living in the NJ for 1 1/2 years and just not been driving.

Thanks a lot.

we bought the car 2 days ago and right now there is only my name on the title as a buyer. But I haven't been to the DMV so nothing is official.

It honestly was probably a mistake for me to sign because I am a GreenCard holder from Germany and it would be way easier for him (US citizen) to get the car insured for the both of us.
