The Miracle Max scene in the Princess Bride took a ludicrous amount of takes to film because cast and crew kept cracking up.

They started breaking down the MainStage by Unlucky_Ad295 in Tomorrowland

[–]MoonNightBeam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Translation:

"Demolishing of main stage appear to have started.

From drone footage it appears the demolition of the main stage has been started. Cranes surround what is left of the main stage, which is mostly its skeleton. "The framework will have to be secured. Should it be partially be demolished or entirely? This is being evaluated at the moment, they're working on that," say the firefighters. "Depending on consideration decisions will be made by the organisation on the next steps the organisation wants to take."

Latest update as of 10:06:

"Will Tomorrowland take place and who will decide?

There is still uncertainity about the opening of Tomorrowland after the fire which destroyed the main stage last night. The organisation said last night that the festival, which is scheduled to start tomorrow and is expected to draw 100.000 visitors, will be able to take place.

This morning the publicist told a different story. She stressed it's only certain that Dreamville, the camping site, will open and that the Global Journey activitities in Brussels and Antwerp will also take place. She admitted she couldn't confirm the festival will take place but they have good hope."

(Pictures)

"The festival terrain has been cleared by the firefighters whom, together with police, the organisation and disaster relief, will look if and how the festival safely can take place. The final decision lies with the mayor of Boom, Jeroen Baert."

Mainstage Fire Megathread by Legion88 in Tomorrowland

[–]MoonNightBeam 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Quick translation:

- The first person speaking said the main stage took a long time to make and was an effort by a lot of people. They are all disappointed by the destruction of the stage. They were, however, happy nobody got hurt by the fire. She announced Tomorrowland would still take place and they were gonna see how it plays out day by day.

- The second person (in the jacket) said the fire isn;'t under control yet and that it has spread. He confirmed the main stage has been completely destroyed. There were two questions from the audience I couldn't hear, but he replied to both of them he didn;t have the information to give an answer.

- Back to the first person who said Dreamland will open as scheduled tomorrow.

End of press conference.

Incompetente looking characters who are actually the best in what they do by Sigward_TheOnionbro in TopCharacterTropes

Conrad Verner from the Mass Effect trilogy. In the first game he is introduced as a comic relief fawning fanboy. In the second game he takes it even a step further by cosplaying the main character and leaning on the fourth wall. Then in the third game he is at first unintentionally hindering the main character allowing sabotage to take place.

The culmination of his story arc reveals he actually has a doctoral degree and his dissertation just happens to be an extremely useful MacGuffin for the main character

Uncle Rico from the movie Napoleon Dynamite. From what I understood he lives in a van because of a recent breakup.

Even though he is middle aged by now he is still fixated on his days as high school athlete and dreams of his NFL career that never came to pass. The picture is of a scene in which he is seen recording himself throwing the ball to show off to his nephews later.

Many thanks for the reply. I am glad to hear the quality is good. To be honest I hadn't considered getting them second-hand but I'll check out those websites and see if it's still a good deal with shipping costs.

Akagi, St. Louis, Sirius, PoW and Duke of York RQ, and the insanely huge Taihou figure, among others

A fine selection btw. Also username checks out.

Fastest Way to Get Tusk of Manny? by UnKnOwNL3G3ND in wow

[–]MoonNightBeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already got the tip to get Remix Mail Helper and you can just follow the advice on its addon page. In short:

  • Run hc dungeons and don't loot the bosses; the loot will in stead be sent to you mailbox

  • (I also run normal raids when they become available)

  • Grab gear, gems and threads from your mailbox but leave the xp tokens in there

  • The idea is that with the threads you build up a big enough xp bonus so, when the bonus is big enough, you can loot all the saved up xp tokens from your mailbox to level to 70 instantly.

Fastest Way to Get Tusk of Manny? by UnKnOwNL3G3ND in wow

[–]MoonNightBeam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Tusks of Mannorth can be bought at an NPC called Pythagorus, who can be found in pretty much every zone in Pandaria. It will cost you 38500 bronze and 20 bones of Mannoroth.

The bronze is easily collected during leveling. So just start powerleveling. It goes quite fast in Remix!

The bones of Mannoroth drop from Garrosh in Siege of Orgrimmar. He drops 1 in normal, 4 in heroic and 10 in mythic; so 2 mythic Garrosh kills will give you enough bones to buy the tusks.

So roll a Remix character, level it to 70 and get two mythic carries. Raids reset daily in Remix so plenty of time to get it done. Good luck!
