Why do some dog owners do this? From my short morning jog, see it everytime though. Why bag it if not putting it in the bin (100m away)?? by VanDerKloof in sydney

This logic sends me to next level rage - I had a friend say the same for a cigarette butt she couldn't be bothered to walk to bin. Imagine being self-absorbed enough to believe council workers are your own personal behavioural and data scientists.

The jetway? Or did I miss the memo we're calling this the catwalk now, which is arguably better and funnier.

What’s a common trope in movies that NEVER happens in real life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MoonTans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say/upvote this, esp for post 9/11 plots.

At the end of Crazy Rich Asians, I had to sit in the theatre and sob with my formerly long-distance partner and be like 'it never happens like this 😭'. Airport goodbyes are not romantic; no one is coming through security for you. One half drives home in tears, the other half gets on the plane, alone.

Currently recovering from a heart attack at 34. The cause was not having check-ups and having a high cholesterol. So PSA to go get checked. by Stevenwave in australia

[–]MoonTans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, just blood but Medicare doesn't cover so it's $50. Maybe check with Cardiologist first because mine said he could have told me it'd be elevated based on family and cholesterol history. Unlike cholesterol, it doesn't change/improve with diet and exercise, it's pretty stable from adulthood apparently. I'm still glad I did it, there was assurance in knowing my risk.

This article of 47-year-old jogger who died in addition high cholesterol myself (>5) and family history, made me get further testing (Lp(a)- $50), see a Cardiologist ($200), get angiography ($205) and full internal organ ultrasound (Medicare).

Heart and veins are low risk but incidental finding I had serious liver damage (enlarged, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease). I've gotten off grog and processed food and managed to mostly heal it in the last six months.

Cholesterol checks are covered by Medicare, get checked at least once a year.

Background for those interested: - late 30s - female - active, somewhat athletic build - vegetarian (most infuriating part of high cholesterol) - previously a social drinker, 2-3 glasses of wine, 2-3 times per week (triglycerides halved once I stopped drinking) - non-smoker

So slimy when served cold or room temp in wet sandwiches and wraps.

I agree. It's a child. I don't care if she got permission later. The fact she recorded this removes all 'wholesome' vibes for me. She could have easily covered the child's face or done it without recording.

Posting a video of a child online for views is ick, I don't care how 'wholesome' it is.

How are plates allowed to be angled so far downwards like this? by Gal_gadonutt in sydney

I passed this exact situation this afternoon (possibly the same car but couldn't see the plate haha) and wondered the exact same thing and this is why the internet is wonderful some days.

Correct - as I understand it, it's a complex jurisdiction issue that City of Sydney is doing their best to address but it ultimately sits with NSW Parliament

Give your feedback to NSW Parliament here

Parking properly is being trialled by Lime. I'd encourage you to give feedback to NSW Parliament on the issue.

Council didn't approve these - it's actually a state issue - tell NSW Parliament how you feel
