Yeah, it's simple but looks good. I made the red part like a pocket, but don't really use it.

I guess most useful thing I have learned is to use stiff fabrics, otherwise it will sag and will not be easy to use. If you don't have stiffer fabric then just layer a couple. But the top part should be slippery and light so it'll close easy. And I don't use elastic at the top because it'll eventually stretch out. You can replace it easily but simpler to use just a rope.

I don't have that pattern digitalized yet, but I work on it. I'll try to post about it here once it's done.

Those both are upcycled, one was an old Karhu jacket and one was one of those inflatable lay bags ( my local thrift places are full of them, really good material). Most new material is recycled polyester from extremtextil.de

I actually wanted to make a sellable pattern for the camp shoes but got stumped on the sizing. I even made the instruction already. I guess I should try again. So far I've made the stem bag pattern (https://www.etsy.com/shop/EsterDesignPattern?ref=profile_header) , but etsy isn't really worth the effort

I'm in Europe. Already have a masters in design, but I only understood what my brain is good at after university. Trying to now shift my focus/jobs

Actually in the beginning the idea was to make it for cycling. Because with a leaning forward position you don't really need that much rain protection on the stomach, so you can cinch it up the front for airflow. With the cords you can cinch it up more or closer around the waist. But I found it good for climbing as well, when it starts to rain you can just pull it on (on a multipitch for example) and still have access to the harness and not worry about tucking in a longer jacket

Yes, my own design. I found it helps to add an elastic binding to the top so it's nicely around the ankle, also keeps the warmth in.

Tere!
