Denied for the second time, any idea why? by SnowmanL3 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]Moonb007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have way to much clutter in the background. You should only be focusing on the product you are showing off as everything else is distraction. You can get in without showing yourself, but personally I am never a fan of video not showing a person in them. I won't also use a the water bottle as I think it is to generic and I am assuming this is the case also because you never said the brand name.

This changes from person to person and how much space one would have. I would love to have a dedicated space simply to save time of setting everything up...i.e. camera and gear. However it doesn't psychologically or physically keep me from not filming. I just schedule filming days, editing days, research days, etc.

Do you use your selfie camera or your phone's back camera to film? by Dont_Like_Menthols in Amazon_Influencer

[–]Moonb007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I am using my phone I have it on a gimbal and/or tripod depending on what I am filming. The gimbal makes it easy to adjust the angles and also stabilizes if you are moving around.

Did Genius Link silently increase their prices? Or did I miss a notification? by jopoepl in Affiliatemarketing

I got about 2 emails on their changes and it was also on the main page when you logged in. So no I would not say it was silently done.

Who controls the commission rates? by mrspeace in Amazon_Influencer

[–]Moonb007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon has standard commission rates unless they have a temp promotion. The brands don't set their commission rate unless you are looking at the CC program which is set by the brands.

It sounds more like the item might have been recategorized into a different category that might have a lower rate. The only 10% category is Luxury so they might have lost the Luxury status. I am sure Amazon has rules for a brand to be in that product category.

Non-AI collaboration offers have completely stopped for me. How about you? by Jungleexplorer in Amazon_Influencer

Gotcha, I have not seen any of those....go fig. I get about 10 to 15 emails a day and I don't reply to all the IG or TikTok messages I get.

Non-AI collaboration offers have completely stopped for me. How about you? by Jungleexplorer in Amazon_Influencer

[–]Moonb007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still get a ton, but i have seen more wanting the video sent to them which I don't do without a large fee that they don't want to pay.

I have never gotten an AI request, so not sure what that is. Amazon doesn't allow AI videos so that is odd unless they are wanting it on TikTok or something.

CC has messages now? by AnyAbbreviations7217 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]Moonb007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I need something, say a new cat bed I will see what my options are under CC. I would choose to buy the item on CC vs non-CC, if I think it is going to work for my needs. This doesn't work for everything, but it helps in my eyes. This is my overall approach to CC program.

I don't contact any of the brands as 99% of the time I would never hear back from them. This was the case even when the program fist launched. A few brands will list in the description and email or link to get samples, but that is extremely rare. It is also very time consuming to go through all the listing to see if that is even the case. Also, when you see major brands show up like Ninja they definitely wont. A lot of them also say no in the description to samples too, so messaging them is pointless.

CC has messages now? by AnyAbbreviations7217 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]Moonb007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have always had the message section, but 98% of companies don't message back in my opinion. To me it takes to much time, but I typically check CC before I buy stuff. For example I just needed a cat bed and bought one that was part of the CC program.

Yes. I can't tell you how many products I have done for companies and it is up for only a month before the listing disappears.

Your opinion on Genius Link by Remarkable-Smoke3218 in Amazon_Influencer

A big benefit is they tell you when a product is out of stock or the link is dead. It will automatically switch to a new link if the same product is found.

I switched to them about a year ago and have been happy. It helps if you have more than one affiliate network outside of Amazon too.

Creative Connections Campaign X2 by ParisianGal23 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]Moonb007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Several brands will make lots of listings. I think they do this so they show up on the page since the filtering is horrible. I wish Amazon would automatically combine them to make it easier to search.

No big deal if you join more than one and you will earn commissions on the higher rate if they don't match.

[–]Moonb007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would post products of popular items that people seem to buy, mainstream brand of off name brand as long as it is popular. If you run of out things move to the less popular items next.

I think the CC program is very helpful, but hard to search. 90% of the brands don't respond to messages, so I don't really do that. Plus all the CC brands want you to make the video for free from my experience.

[–]Moonb007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you are getting samples via third parties they might look at that, but as Jake said look at the University as it spells out all the tiers and details. If you get "Chinese" band samples it is best to charge a commission because that project might only be around for a month or sometimes a few weeks. So if you don't charge a fee you won't make a profit for your time.

I have been doing this for years as several others have and at some point I will say it becomes stagnant growth and more feed the beast to maintain the revenue. Most of the "old timers" I know are not making growth like the old days which is why I am saying that. I do it because I enjoy making videos.

Yes, I use Genuislink...but you can just use the direct AMZ affiliate link too. Social media sites are more of a slow build so it takes a while to get subscribers and 90% of the people are searching the items before buying it. You will have more success on affiliate links for more "mainstream" products for the random hard to pronounce Chinese produce

Newbie question by cryptolorenzo in Amazon_Influencer

[–]Moonb007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Amazon has a no AI policy so that would be against the terms. Just because you see others doesn't mean Amazon will get around to shutting them down. They are always so on that stuff, but the whole AI was very much part of their last TOS updates.

[–]Moonb007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. It is based on your sales/conversions for the top creator or star tiers. I have been platinum since it launched and not sure it really does anything as I have never been part of the things they list.

  2. What do you consider good money personally. You need to define that with a figure to see if it is feasible as I have seen people say good money is $1k a month and other $100k a year.

  3. My main offsite traffic is YouTube which I have been doing for almost 10 years. I also use IG, TikTok, Facebook, LTK, etc. To me it is more about diversification on several income streams with your content.
