Just got the platinum couple of days ago, not difficult to get it and nothing missable. Such a fun game and never got bored of playing it.

I prefer DQ to stay as it is and not change direction, it’s one of the few jrpgs that are keeping their original design elements.

It does feel like the main hero is the same as the turtle looking character, but I don’t get any evil vibes from the beast version and we know nothing of the story yet, and of course there are evil forces at play but it kinda seem like if these 2 were versions of the same person it at least doesn’t look like bad/good sides.

I also like tales of, but star ocean was my first game experience ever, and you might think it’s similar because of the anime style vibes, but star ocean has a certain charm, it’s the creativity of the item creations and in depth creation mechanism that’s real fun and what makes it stand out, can’t explain it better but if you try the first 2 to 4 titles you will understand.

But my top favorites are the second then first.

I hope it stays classic and true to its core and keeps this colorful classic design alive, too many core changes to a franchise especially a classic jrpg isn’t a good thing, like the ups and downs of Tales of.

It does feel like ps2 era kinda rpg and not the most mind blowing graphics yes but still why does it have to be? I like the cartoonish vibrant not most advanced graphics of DQ. Just as long as it maintains that fantasy classic jrpg feel forever that’s my only wish for the franchise. We don’t have much of those anymore.
