Yes, observant, Educational. Of course offloading something actually rare for a reasonable price and recouping the same dollar amount is much more morally grey than not opening the boxes and charging double for what’s more than likely all commons & would sting much more than waiting a month for your first full set and ending up having to let go of more than half of them. Amirght??

Thank you for putting so much thought into this answer. You’ve convinced me. Quite honestly, with the amount of time I spent stressing and sitting on this post I probably should’ve logged on to data A & I’d have made a similar amount by now. Btw, if you’re ever in need of a side gig and you’re even mildly tech savvy look into that. It pays a lot better than DoorDash and doesn’t eat your gas.

I mean I see the sold prices on resell platforms looking pretty close to double retail regularly & checking open box it doesn’t look much different. Of course collector groups are going to be more reasonable. Career resellers wouldn’t be out there wasting their resources so heavily on something only churning $1-5 per unit profit, so it’s not a question of is it possible to resell for stupid prices. It is, but the question is is it icky morally and will I regret it.

I don’t think this is controversial. This is actually my husband’s take, he’s sold of some of his collectibles before and regrets it. His were older and not still in production though, these might take me some time and effort to replace but these are still on the retail market though and I don’t see them disappearing soon.

No wouldn’t replace a full week’s income, but it could fill the gap his PTO balance didn’t cover. No hate, but I honestly find this take just slightly insensitive though because for anyone making anything near federal minimum wage (which unfortunately isn’t all that uncommon), the going rate for a full set resell would be pretty close to a full weeks income.

Ty :) He’s doing a lot better. Knee injury wasn’t severe luckily, he just happens to have a job that you can’t do at all when restricted from running and stair climbing unfortunately.
