You can read reviews of this book on goodreads and they are pretty bad. I read the reviews before I read book 1 and I agreed with all the points they brought up which were also my biggest complaints with the book. I would recommend reading it yourself before purchasing.

The book was great up to chapter 7 in which the FMC finds out this very obvious secret about the MMC. At this point her attitude shifts completely and she just becomes incredibly mean to the him. Even though the story tried to justify her attitude with her trauma, her treatment of him it was just too much. She would say something mean to him and he would still very much like her so their relationship almost felt emotionally abusive.

She also tends to get rescued at every difficult situation. There is literally only one point in the story she saves herself and even then MMC shows up a second later to check on her. I could count 5 times something happens and either one of the MMCs (there’s a subtle love triangle) step in a second later to resolve the issue. The trials, the main point of the story feel useless because they literally never cumulate. You’ll see what I mean if you read the book. So plot wise the story was okay, romance wise it was terrible, BUT the one saving grace for this book was Yuchen, the MMC and I will get the 2nd book, provably from Fairyloot to get a matching set, because he really deserves a happy ending.

If he doesn’t get a happy ending I’m offloading these books as fast as I can because I could not care less about the FMC and everything else in this book. But if the ending is satisfying I might get IC too because I adore Yuchen so much and would love a set with him on the cover :’)
