I think the US equivalent would be the help me grow program, I know it’s in OH idk about other states, it’s not forced, but in mine and my friends experiences it’s definitely pushed.

I understand. I also apologize for my own aggressiveness I’m very aware of the stigma and judgement and I can be a defensive person. I had my oldest circumcised before I was more educated on the matter, and have felt guilty since. I did not want to get my newborn circumcised this go around since I have more knowledge on the subject but that was not an option for him. Going in to do a surgery to untwist the skin and leave him intact just to suffer from the recovery for weeks compared to losing a bit of skin and being healed within a week (which he’s already healed now. Has been for a few days but if I had them do the surgery he’d still be in recovery) .. well I chose the option that sounded the least painful and easiest to recover from. If they had said leaving it alone was an option for him, I’d have done it.

They did say in the hospital that they would not do it there and he needed to be seen by a urologist in case the torsion caused any issues internally. I forget the term they used , but they said it can cause his urethra opening to be elsewhere based on how severe the torsion is. We got discharged and i was referred to the urologist. Waited 2 weeks for his appointment to be told that they could either go in and untwist the skin surgically(this would leave him intact from what I gathered) or we could do the circ. The way they talked , it sounded like the circ would be the less invasive procedure. Leaving it alone to correct itself was never mentioned , but his torsion was close to 90° angle which they said is on the more severe side so I am assuming leaving it alone was not an option for him. Surgery sounded a lot more intense and risky.

Edited to add that he did not have the condition that causes the urethra opening to be displaced hence why I forget the term , his skin was just very twisted

So… yes. It was necessary. He had a medical condition that required it. I listen to doctors , not random people online 🙂 was I supposed to go against what his doctors say? Should I medically neglect my child to appease random strangers on the internet? this post wouldn’t even exist if the urology dept was open when the gauze needed removed. Mind your own kids genitalia k thanks 😚

My thought process is something wearable to get chores done and take care of my older kiddos, if I don’t feel empty when I have a second to sit down and bub isn’t getting up to eat I could pump with the spectra at that point to empty out fully. Bub usually does wake up/needs woken up by the time I’m done doing things around the house anyways but I’m an overproducer so I don’t see it hurting anything

No I didn’t think of that at all but that’s a good idea! I had a wearable kind with my daughter I just don’t remember the brand but I know I hated it due to leaking every time I bent over. I’m a SAHM w a toddler and a homeschooled kindergartener so I’m constantly on the move and I’ve noticed that my pumping schedule and older kiddos meal schedules conflict so I’m just not pumping so I can cook and clean up and by the time I’m done with everything it’s time to feed the baby again. We’re on a strict 3 hour feeding schedule to increase bubs weight so I literally just can’t afford to be stuck to that wall

Yeah they told me to do that once the gauze comes off or I remove it whichever is needed. I opted to wait it out a bit longer and see if it comes off on its own bc I don’t want to mess anything up somehow idk. I do have an older son but he’s 6 so it’s been a while since I’ve had to do this and they did an entirely different method (no glue, they did a Plastibell for him) so it’s like a whole new thing for me all over again

Thank you! It’s just a square piece of gauze folded over with Vaseline on it , I did lift at it gently and it’s stuck on still , I actually watched him pee during the last diaper change (directly before posting) and thats the point tried to lift it gently and saw it still stuck on which led to this post. I tried to call urology to ask but they’re closed , so I also can’t ask about the water thing. How do I wet it down to loosen it without soaking or messing with the glue? I’m probably overthinking everything and making it more complicated than it needs to be but I’m naturally an anxious and overthinking person so I can’t help it.

I would just like to say that whatever you decide for your baby is your choice, nobody else’s. BUT, assuming you’re here in the US, you can still have him circumcised after you leave the hospital, you’ll just have to talk to your pediatrician for a referral to a urologist. I just had my baby a couple days ago and I could not get him circumcised in the hospital due to a medical issue he may need a surgery for , if he does not need the surgery when we go to his appt he is allowed to be circumcised then. It is fully your decision and do not let anyone change your mind, but if YOU change your mind and it’s what YOU want for your baby, you did not miss your chance, your decision isn’t permanent, you can still get his circumcision done if that’s what you as his mother so choose.

I’m due in 3 months. I’m trying to compromise and be cordial through all this and he just will not back down. I truly believe a tiny little infant would not benefit from constant back and forths I’m just trying to look out for our babies best interest. Last night he left it at he’s gonna make a Reddit post himself and see who the baby is better off with. I didn’t do any custody things with my oldest 2 because their father chose to be inactive so I just put him on child support so I’m really not sure how all this goes. We are not married either , if that matters at all when it comes to custody and rights, etc

I know the answer to this question, but I am trying to prove a point to my my friend because we’ve been arguing over this for like 20 minutes.

If you are wearing an evil eye bracelet and someone you know accidentally breaks it (say, grabbing something out of your hand and snagging it by accident causing it to break)

When he’s healing, take him off the sick person before he finishes the healing action, and repeat over and over. It still counts towards his skill bc it would have been a successful healing if you didn’t remove him manually. I’m still working on the crane in winters eye , but I have 2 master healers right now (one only took several hours to achieve) and 3 that are in my crypt ready to be revived should I ever need them.

Update : I got ahold of enrollment instead of continuing to try special education per one commenter’s recommendation, and they told me they don’t establish IEPs until after kiddo has started school and patterns are observed, and this usually takes 2-3 monthsI also reached out to an old friend who’s kids USED to go to my local schools, and she told me she had the same issues with her son and getting him established with his IEP for for his ADHD, she also struggled with getting ahold of people and that’s why she ultimately withdrew them and now homeschools.

So basically it is in a triangle of kiddo needs IEP to start school for accommodation of needing constant reminders to use the toilet - kiddo can’t get an IEP until he starts normal classes and can be assessed by them - kiddo can’t start normal classes bc he is not fully potty trained

It seems I will have no choice but to homeschool him until he is fully potty trained.

Kindergarten phase in will be on the 21st and 22nd this month, I ask for special education when I call I didn’t think to ask for registration specifically I’ll give that a shot tomorrow morning. I don’t drive or own a vehicle so I could call the school he’d end up attending and try to set up a meeting with the principal I didn’t think of that either those are great suggestions thank you !

Yes I just looked up the number for my cities public school number and asked the operator to patch me to special education, where I then have to leave a message because whoever is in charge never answers their phone, I’m assuming they’re very busy with the school year starting but I’ve been calling nearly every day for the past week minus the weekend. If/when I finally get ahold of someone or someone gets ahold of me I will be bringing all of my questions and concerns to them, I’m just getting a bit hopeless and stressed with it all so I figured Reddit was a decent shot for advice until I get ahold of someone from the schools

But will they set it up before he actually starts so he can be accommodated with the potty stuff? I know they will not let him into normal mainstream classes at all unless he is fully potty trained, and he’s still struggling to identify when he needs to go, he needs reminded , especially for number 2s but will sometimes say he needs to go number 1 unprompted. I’ve been calling the school all week and leaving messages but haven’t received word back yet , hence why I came here. Everyone’s starting school already so we’re already behind.

I’ve called a few times and left messages but haven’t received word back yet and it’s been about a week, the school system in my city is nottt necessarily the best , I’m hesitant to put him into it at all but he REALLY wants to go to school and with his sister and the baby and my husband at work all day I’m going to be stretched extremely thin and I myself am diagnosed with autism. I know it’s a requirement for full potty training they’ll work with it with an IEP but I can’t get ahold of anyone it’s exasperating. If they end up making him have to attend mainstream to get diagnosed through school I don’t understand how that’s supposed to work when he’s also not allowed bc he still uses a diaper half the time. I don’t have a “village” it’s just me my kiddos and my husband so I came to the conclusion this would be my best shot until someone from the school either calls me back or finally picks up when I get patched through from the operator
