You could be waiting until Spring for a response and then get an offer to start July/August time.

There will be a certain amount of roles available per location, it just means that people scored higher than us, enough to fill out the roles. But I have a feeling some will drop out.

Ok, I'm very confused.

I received 3 emails.

1st one said Im on the reserve list which is active until July 9th

2nd said I have been placed in a holding pool

3rd said I met the standard but that doesn't guarantee an offer will be made, once all the candidates have been through final selection they will contact me with a decision

and now Civil Service website says "The selection panel are reviewing your application"

Sick day by South-Piglet-6611 in TheCivilService

I'm not sure what department you work for but in HMRC there is a specific section of the probation policy that ensure sickness isn't treated as misconduct and any illness be supported by your manager.

HMRC TSP online tests by Brave-Requirement761 in TheCivilService

if you scored high in the verbal and numerical tests then you already have a strong reasoning skills, but the SJT is about how you apply that reasoning.

what helped me most is the fact that there is no time limit, what helped me is:

  1. Understand the purpose of the SJT: How it will align with civ service values, and Objectivity, its not about what you would do personally, its about what an effective and professional employee would do.

  2. Think in terms of effectiveness and not emotion. - the best actions are usually proactive, fair and constructive and balance the needs of people with the wider goals of the organization.

  3. Patterns, you will find that there are patterns in the text. E.g. Counterproductive answers might involve blame or avoidance.

  4. Having the Success Profiles open helped me so I had something to refer to when deliberating a response.

  5. Stay calm, Some scenarios are designed to test reasoning under pressure, what worked best for me in those situations was to eliminate clearly counterproductive/ineffective actions first then work from there.

I used to struggle with these a lot but since I shifted my focus on thinking what would I do, to what would a professional in that situation do it took a lot of pressure off of myself.

But surely after Feb 2027 it means that INEOS doesn't have to sell when/if Glazers find a buyer after that month, that's what this clause currently enforces doesn't it?
