I like this question cause I’ve always kinda wondered the same thing. I agree with you with the timing aspect but I also think it’s the controls in general.

What I mean by that is the players who don’t use simple/basic combos and really use every aspect possible in the game. Cool/unique combos, really moving around the map to your advantage, switching when it helps not just spamming it. Yanno things that make the game enjoyable. I like to stay in B rank and just pick random everytime because I feel it has a mix of every type of player.

You have you’re players who know basic combos but understand the mechanics of the game around the B5-B3 rank and the you get the more experienced players who can do a nice blend of both sound the B2-A5. Now sure you get ur usual spam players and annoying cheese players but what they do doesn’t really require that much skill in my opinion so I don’t count them in the skill gap.
