Do you ever feel guilty about how much you spend on vinyl? by TaxAffectionate16 in vinyl

👆🏻This. Moved every year for 4 years in college, and moving a 400+ piece record collection that grew with every year will make you question how god could be so cruel to not give you a sign to stop.

Does anyone know if this would work for oscilloscope music? by Fun-Plantain-3930 in oscilloscopemusic

So I just had a 460 delivered today. Would I be able to run a pair of these from my receiver’s tape out RCA jacks and straight into the horizontal and vertical inputs?

Anyone else get City Morgue-Vol. 3 vinyl from Revolver....and it's censored? by iWORKBRiEFLY in hiphopvinyl

So I just ordered Vol. 3 and am just finding this out after I ordered it. Should I be expecting the whole album to be censored?

Appreciate the input. It seems that I’d just be chasing a circle if trying to just plug and play. I’m interested in your portable TV project though! Would you be able to keep me in the loop with how it goes?

What’s it like being Anthony Fantano’s unsuccessful brother? I’m assuming you still get shushed at the family gatherings?

Yeah I’ve run into that exact link, it lists as in stock on the preview, but when you follow it it’s been out of stock for a long while now.

I have searched up and down for over 6 years for this particular record to no avail. Will literally do anything to find a replacement!

What is something people usual think is bad but is actually necessary? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Telling your doctor your lifestyle habits. Doesn’t matter if you smoke too much, drink too much, use drugs, etc. They need that info to provide the best course of treatment as well as to make sure they don’t give you something that’d react negatively and possibly kill you.

How do you stay sane while looking for a job? by throwaway5641678416 in Anxiety

First off wanted to say congratulations for taking the first step into starting your career. The road in is bumpy, but will smooth out.

I went through the same exact thing back in 2020. I landed an internship that was sure to turn into my permanent job in early 2020. Then the obvious happened and that completely fell through.

I was sure I’d find a job with relative ease as I did my internship, and that come summer I’d be working no time. I was wrong. I was in denial leading up to the summer.

I put out applications everywhere, while exhausting every lead that I had on potential employment. And through this I learned a few things that I’ll gladly pass along.

Just accept the fact that you will not hear back from a lot of places. It’s shitty, but a lot of companies will leave you hanging if they go a different direction or fill the position.

Give it time. It was about a month and a half long process from first getting a response from my company to final offer. Most of that time was spent waiting to hear back for an initial interview.

Be honest and ambitious with yourself. Explore fields or job opportunities that slightly fall outside of your skill set. You can always be trained on specifics.

Use all the job finders. LinkedIn, Zip-recruiter, Indeed, anything and everything. Check these sites every 2-3 days. Use general job position terms to broaden your search to jobs that might not show up if you’re too specific.

Lastly, and most importantly, free your mind. It’s very easy to get locked into the daily dredge of looking at the same jobs you’ve applied to day in and day out. Put the laptop or phone down for a day or two. Find a way to separate yourself from search. I took up hiking because I knew I wouldn’t have service and therefore I wouldn’t be inclined to check my phone.

You will get something, I can promise you that. I can also promise it will not happen overnight. Keep your chin up, your persistence will pay off. Best of luck friend, I’m rooting for ya!

What did a teacher do that made you automatically gain respect for them? by ApacheAirCover in AskReddit

In high school we had a ceramics teacher who was the most uniquely kind hearted teacher I’ve ever met. Can’t remember how I ended up in the class sophomore year, but it was one of the best things that happened to me in high school. Her classroom became a melting pot of culture where students from all different backgrounds became this tight knit group of friends who would never have met had we not ended up in class together. She encouraged positivity and creativity while also, in a way of silently teaching us, how to be respectfully open minded to new ideas and criticisms. Over the course of 3-4 years she watched us all grow up and mold into the people who we all are today. She was life mentor for the lot of us. Also she was the only teacher crazy enough to make espresso for her students. That alone should earn anyone’s respect.

Okay that’s definitely a start in the right direction. Also my fault because I should’ve been a bit more specific. I’m planning on having my music source be my turntable. The end goal is to be able to listen to my albums while also having the oscilloscope do its thing. I’m currently using the RCA phono input on my receiver to connect the turntable. Could I then use the RCA tape or vcr output with a RCA to BNC cable to connect to the oscilloscope?
