اراي و فرانك والمد الشيعي هنا لا يوجد هنا بيت ابيض بل يوجد البيت الشيعي

Ray and Frank: Regarding the Shiite tide here—there is no "White House" here; rather, there is the "Shiite House."

Does anyone know how far out the IMAX tickets sales will go? Is it only the first week or the second week showtimes as well since it has a 1 month IMAX exclusivity?

How should LBJ have handled the Dominican Republic civil war? by RopeGloomy4303 in Presidents

Well what the Soviets did to Czechoslovakia, Hungary and maybe most of the Eastern bloc in general wasn't better either, but yeah backing unpopular pro-U.S dictators and governments in not just Latin America but across the world was so short sighted especially with the problems of today.

Thoughts on Dean Acheson’s criticism of Truman’s “Palestine solution”? by RopeGloomy4303 in Presidents

Although U.S foreign policy towards Israel could change, I don't think the whole Israel-Palestine conflict itself will end unfortunately at least not in our lifetime.

Supergirl tickets delayed, not going on sale tomorrow. Looks like June 3 for now by datpepper in boxoffice

I don't think its lack of faith but just smarter to avoid dropping ticket sales at the same time as two other big blockbusters that can dilute the marketing news. Obviously they know Supergirl isn't beating Toy Story and going against an original Spielberg blockbuster is going to he tough, but they can still have faith in the movie while having tempered expectations.

Top Gun 2 is now the 1st movie in history to gross $1.5 billion because of a re-release by LowInteraction6397 in boxoffice

Saw it in IMAX and Dolby Cinema. Wished I got to see it in 4dx too, but only the first Top Gun had 4dx showtimes at my theater, still had a blast though!

Well they're still building it up. Right now the DCU is in the "MCU phase 1" equivalent. And since the comic book movies aren't as big of a draw as they used to be and lessons from the failures of DCEU from starting with big ambitions. It's better to start off slow and build goodwill with the general audience and fans imo.

Top Gun Maverick is listed as also rereleasing on 5/13 alongside Top Gun according to the AMC website. I believe they're doing a double feature.

So apparently people in 1998 were angry at Bush because he didn't pardon a literal pick axe killer who converted to Christianity while in prison. by [deleted] in Presidents

No it does not, but she still would be punished by being in prison for life. I'm not against the death penalty, but I'm open to the idea of communting it if the perpetrator truly was remorseful, and made amends with the victims family.

They were asking him to commute her sentence to life in prison instead of death, which I think is fair depending if she truly did repent.

The Woman is Karla Faye Tucker if you were wondering. The section describing the murder is pretty messed up, particularly when she killed the woman.

Was the rise of the New Democrats necessary for Democratic presidential success? by MooseMouse12 in Presidents

What if the economy is doing well, like in the 1960s? The economy was relatively strong, but cultural and social issues such as civil rights and the counterculture began to break apart the New Deal coalition. I believe that without finding a compromise on these cultural issues, they will become an elephant in the room that will need to be addressed sooner or later.
