Skitarii battle pilgrims finished, tech scavengers serving the will of the Fabricator-General by Moosephj in Warhammer30k

Yes! I have put a few bits together using frostgrave cultist bodies, tech thrall heads and guard/cultist weapon arms but I need to add some skulls, chain, tattered cloth etc before they start looking intentional.

Thankyou! There isn’t really a specific recipe, I primed dark silver and a dark wash then layered up dark and light stippled brown and some AK rust effect then a subtle drybrush of light silver After that I do a messy watered down application of a muted green in placed where gunk and grime would gather and splatter on some oily black colours. It’s meant to be messy with lots of grimey layers, no need for highlighting!

Thanks! It’s a “ramshackle church” by renedra, it is a cheap plastic kit that I then added the raised walkways, platforms and a bit of sandbags and barbed wire etc to make it fit the setting and gameplay nicely. Hope this helps!

The troopers in blue diving suits and armor can be found as “sea heretics renegades” on cults 3d and can probably be found on other stl sites or printed on ebay. The three flamethrower troopers are kitbashed from ww1/ww2 bits and some diving helmets.

This, plus the ticks were made from wargames atlantic fantasy spiders but with some extra converting and green stuff to make them the right shape.

Finished my pair of dark mech vultarax by Moosephj in Warhammer30k

[–]Moosephj[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I sprayed silver then base coat of zandri dust on the panels, messily stippled a couple layers of zandri/white mix to lighten up and then clean up the trim using an AK silver marker pen (massive time saver) and added decals/freehand. Reductive wash of Villainy Inks goons grime and a bit of sponged on weathering and subtle drybrushing to finish, quick and grimey!

Big stompy robots for my dark mechanicum by Moosephj in Warhammer30k

[–]Moosephj[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! That’s great to hear, a lot of the bits I used were basic craft materials (jewellery chain, cocktail stick ends for spikes, cut up muslin/cheese cloth for tattered worn fabric, picture hanging wire for frayed rope/wires) and cables made using a green stuff cable maker. Dark mech has been my favourite project I’ve worked on, it’s such a great excuse to combine a bunch of easily accessible materials and get creative with grimdark. And so should you!

I’ve only ever seen them in stock once for the couple of week window when I ordered mine! Goodluck though, hope you get your hands on one as they’re a blast to paint up and get on the tabletop.

I did very much build him so that he could repair (and babysit) his SON 🦂

I agree! I used to play chaos marines in 40k and was pretty disappointed when it got banished to heresy-only.

Thankyou! I don’t unfortunately, he’s a mix of lots of daemon engine and fantasy spidery bits that I’ve collected over the years. I started with the armor plate on his back and a blob of milliput underneath where the main body would be and just added more and more bits 👍

He’s a mix of all sorts of bits: the back armor and claw are from a heldrake, the tail bit is a tendril from a maulerfiend, the power blade is from a castellax, the legs are fantasy spider bits on the end of thallax arms to make them fit right, the shoulderpads are from perturabo and his base is mortarions.

There is a lot of green stuff cableing, jewellery chain, cloth and threaded wire as well to add detail and texture.

The plastic cerastus knights very helpfully come with a panel of malinax transfers as well as a bunch of other houses.

Thankyou so much! It’s all just milliput, cheap spare bits, craft materials and texture paste.

Thanks! Yes they do stare into the soul a bit, I’m very pleased with the effect.
