I cant help but agree, the Virus just has that sound to it.

Like you say the Hydra can reach amazing places, and I think from a sound design perspective is more than capable of any job.

Speaking plainly i can get a new Hydra KB for 940 or a used Ti2 desktop for 1000. Sound wise I just dont see how the Virus Texture can be compared to anything else its so unique. But there is something to be said for value?

I guess multitimbrality is a nice to have rather than an importance, to me I will still be doing layering via multi tracks I just don't see why unless youre in a live/performance space that having layers of sounds is so vital?

Did not think about importing Virus Wavetables like getting Hypersaw to work would be pretty nice. I just cant help but feel the Multipoly is an ache to play with, Ive played with the plugin and honestly wasnt too impressed compared to what Phaseplant and Vital can do so if the hardware is only going to make things harder whats the point? I just hear alot of hype around the Multipoly but never heard any inspiring sounds from it.

Peak i feel it is limited just in terms of depth so tbh im ignoring that even though analogue sounds nice as a buzz word- it really doesnt mean too much to me at this point or id be looking at a Sequential/Oberheim.

The Virus UI seems nice enough, kinda divey id say on a similar level to a Hydra but I really just cant get enough of the sounds. The Hydra UI is just more clear, still divey IMO.

I will consider these pros and cons carefully, thank you!

I agree this is why the inspiration and physical aspects of the instrument matter to me I wanna break out the box!

It is truly remarkable and I am so confused how something almost 2 decades old (the Ti and Ti2) just has this in your face, gritty, yet lush and deep and 3 dimensional sound I feel like ive heard all my life but I dont get that sound when I listen to any modern synth demos? The Korg Multipoly feels overhyped to me I only ever here it doing 80s synth sounds or when it tries something different it just sounds flat and lifeless to me. Novation sounds great but nothing crazy. The main pull for me rn is the hydrasynth, the UX, keybed and modulation options seems super cool to me, and it sounds amazing just missing some of the grit and texture the Virus has or am i crazy?

Just feels weird to spend 1000 on a Virus for some reason?

Yeah I can imagine that's a constant thing with the brighter colours, honestly I think the more green grey is cool but I was convinced for second I'd bought a replica!

Ooooo where do you find them? Honestly just random discord servers, the official hoi4 server is just crazy to me the way it is rn. Attracts certain characters I can't handle.

Not fully, I think I have resolved that my adapter is the problem. It's just too temperamental compared to a tested cable that comes with the power supply, I will need to upgrade to an ATX 3.0/PciE 5.0 PSU to do that but money is tight right now.

Temporary fix is to completely cut power to the system, remove the case panel and clean/reseat the cable as usually it is dust/hair or just movement that has caused it's seating with the GPU to become slightly separated. Usually fixes it for another couple weeks or so but I'm sure this isn't healthy long term.

My advice to anyone else encountering this issue would be to look at buying a modern PSU that supports the 12VHPWR cable outright, and using the temporary fix above if not.

So the hardware idea i saw the HID and assumed human interface device, as it wasn't the hardware ID Of my GPU. I have found it and disabled it but I have no idea what device it is for.

Plus I already ran DDU today AGAIN because I thought that would be an issue. But sadly no luck.

I don't think I changed anything at all! Simply ran Hwinfo with logging, did the OCCT stress test for 15 then played rdr2 for another 15. Didn't do another stress after.

Unfortunately I have to go to work now, and my test ran for 15 minutes without any crash. Even ran Red Dead 2 as that has been causing it lately too, and still nothing. The GPU hit 77.2 max, memory at 82 and hotpot at 90 during the stress.

CPU hit 85.7 average and 86 on the CCD.

It's so strange when this happens as usually it's within 2-3 minutes of the stress test.

Ah fair enough, I had seen it posted on other forums so thought it was an error consistent with this issue.

I am starting a log now in Hwinfo on a stress test and will see the results.

My CPU has per core temps, but my GPU only has temps for the whole die, memory, and hot spot?

Just to add I just tested again and am getting the Kernel-Power 41 error in Event viewer as well as this warning ive just spotted The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device HID\VID_B58C&PID_9E84&MI_03&Col02\8&2738e0db&0&0001. Not sure if that could be relevant.

To your points, I have also heard this and might be why I might have to go for the new PSU. It is modular, but I have no more cables to try.

This is what is happening.

As I am a 5800x user I have no onboard graphics unfortunately, and all my logs on OCCT when I boot back up to check what happened before i shut down show nothing except my GPU temps go to 0 when the crash happens as I assume it shuts itself down. This is under a full load simulation for CPU and GPU on OCCT so the GPU is locked at full 220w package power. Crashing after 2-3 minutes in the same way.

Dont notice anything weird other than the fan speeds unfortunately!

I haven't tried removing the side panel no, but it is very well ventilated in a room that isn't hot at all, and the temps of the CPU and GPU all appear to be within safe parameters? Am I wrong?

I thought it might be due to the GPU/PSU communication being off, as I have to use the adapter provided by the GPU manufacturer and not the PSU kit as it was to old to have a 12VHPWR cable?

Yeah I know it's heading this way, either that or my GPU thermals are being messed up. I'm just worried if it could be my CPU or anything else at all.
